Hi Twinturbo22, im new in forum and currently engage NW for renovation quote, after see all yours comment abit scare now, but still considering them, as my ID service and their price are the best so far (doesn't mean lowest in market) , so do you mind to share your photo of the thing they done? (With appreciate)

Speaking of that... I realised I've not taken any photos yet..... I have only 1 piece of advice to the pple --> sign up unless u r very confident, thick-skinned and very naggy.... coz u will need to keep bugging and nagging on the ID... coz ID may not be pro-active...coz it's all about the shabby work done by:

1. Electrician 2. Painter 3. Carpenter 4. Flooring subcon 5. Glass/Mirror subcon 6. Window grill subcon.

Only #3 belongs to NW company, all the rest of works r outsourced to sub-cons... n these sub-cons all very bo chup mentality.. coz it's not their own house... all the con n subcons r careless too.... u will definitely feel pek chek after paying so much $$$ n yet invited trouble for yourself. Some owners just close one eye n bear with it n accepted the HO with defects all over on their work. Depending on wat kind of person u r, ask urself if u r able to close one eye too. It's not about being picky or wat... IMO u r paying for their services n u wanna get some professional services.

Hi everyone, just to share my experience today with NW.

Met up with this Eric after collecting my keys today , hehe..

Tried to get me to meet him at 11.30am, kinda early, so i asked for 12pm. Ok he says..

So i arrive at 11.30, take some measurements, photos for my own use..

time passes... tick tock tick tock...

12pm arrives... no Eric, no sms, no phone call..

I think, never mind.. send out sms asking him to come up..

He calls me back @ 12.25 asking me which block number? /annoyed already..

Comes up @ 12.35 finally without a word of apology!

I seriously hate people who do not respect punctuality..

So i just go through the rough works with him.. he takes some measurements.. and finally, shows me the quotation of works i asked for..

OMG $43k! are they out for blood?

Considering i read that they actually charge cheaper than other IDs, i was really shocked!

3 other quotes i received didn't even come close.. ($33k was the highest)

Looks like i'm gonna give them a miss.. no punctuality, couldn't really propose anything, very expensive pricetag...

My 2 cents worth..

However he did informed us before anhour or else before he late with reasonable, so we dont mind lo...

After finalise with him everything this morning, feel satisfy and will propably sign with them this week...

If you asking me why i will choose them, i think it's coz me and my husband feel pretty convinience with their ID service (Friendly, Humble and no Pushy).

For my opinion is "Renovation design, service and quote is more depend on the ID but company"....(Hope i'm right )

but if there are rarely any good comments on a company, you must suspect that there is a certain culture among the staff to do things certain way.

I agree with twinturbo22. Carpentry is prob their own, the rest ? They sub-contract work out to numerous assorted subcons, paying them roughly 30% of what you are paying - I got this figure from the subcon. This is the surest way to ensure poor quality. Subcons get squeezed to get the work done so they cut corners everywhere. It's a good business model though, easy 70% profit, they just get the IDs to manage the PR with you. Better siam this kinda company. The last time the ah beng contractor doing my previous 4 rm flat was much better.

just a word of advice for those who signed up with them: don't pay the remaining 50% until ~everything~ is done including minor defects. Check your contract before you sign. They won't come back to fix the defects once you pay up 90%.

Think twice if you are engaging this firm. You would rather spend a bit of more money to engage more established firm, if you want quality work done

Hi Twinturbo22, thank for your time, but that is not necessary for me, as for my understanding was normally their profit is earn by total amount of quotation. Since this i will not bargain with him every item but lumsum discount

It just doesn't seem right, all come together like "fixed"...

I have engaged NW and I am definitely satisifed with their services. I have requested my ID to come down several times even for every minor single crack on the wall and he even get his worker to re-plaster / repaint the portion. Personally I am a very picky person.

And no doubts, their quotes are definitely cheaper than others (Compared 7 quotes before), which might explain why there are so much slendering.

Most renovation firms are ID, and they command higher premium in terms of renovation. As for NW, they do provide design suggestion but mostly, it is planned by my wife and I. The price is cheaper and I felt its fine since we are planning the design portion on ourselves and save on firms that provide professional design.

Hi WeiWeiQQ, you are right. My ID is from the Macpherson branch. I do have the photos but it is all stored in my hp.

Any idea how I can show you? I have to load it in my pc.

Anyway my renovation is just a simple renovation, in fact alot of my frds say its Simple and Nice (5 person in total).

Already told you my total reno cost, and we did not do featured wall and built in wardrobe, but we did more of practicality to clean / easy maintenance and yet most imptly suit our budget.

Hope you have a smooth process for your renovation and no worries it will be a great one
