After 1st Appointment, What's Next?

Recommended Posts

Hi to those experience buyer or seller.

I just want to check after the first appointment, if the buyer/owner has agreed to move out within 1 week after 1st appointment, can I move in?

What about the PUB/Power supply? I believe the PUB is still under the name of the owner.

Any good soul can kindly advise?

mwerkz is correct.

We went for our 1st appt on 16 Sept and buyer wanted to ask for earlier hand-over. Wanted to do some minor reno before they moved in.

Their agent gave us a copy of an indemnity form (renovation) which basically says that buyer is fully responsible for defects and leakages, arising from the reno works whether these exist before or after the completion of the resale, etc, etc.

It is to be signed by proposed buyer, contractor/ID and existing owner.

We were also told that conservancy, PUB bills, etc will still be under our name (seller) though - so we didn't go ahead. But we agreed with completion of resale to be 6 weeks from 1st appt instead.

Yep. Our relationship with our buyer has so far been good.

They asked for us to patch holes in the walls after we remove our pix, etc and also for our day and night curtains.

So I'll be taking the time to do that and also wash and pack the curtains up for them.

Don't intend to leave the house in a mess when we move out.

Reno in our new place still in progress and should be finished by mid-Oct but have to stand-by if any delay (as advised by other forummers) just in case. Better not to promise buyer earlier reno or move-in.

Also didn't want to complicate current good relationship between us if any problem should arise regarding who pays how much of the conservancy, PUB bills, etc - agent had advised that we could split half-half, for eg.

I agreed with our-home.

I think we should compromise with each other (buyer/seller). This will also allow us to go through the transaction smoothly

Yes, agreed. We should compromise. I allowed the seller to leave his belongings in the flat after handling over while he allowed me to bring my contractors over after the 1st appt.
