invigorated 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 It's a start at least. You have a nice layout to play around with so can maximise that and the greenery you get as a view outside. When's the wedding? My wedding's end Nov. Now in the final stages of preparation. There's really an avalanche of things to do when the reno comes hand in hand! Lucky we chose the ID route, Alex helping us quite a bit on the coordination. Exciting but at the same time headache ah...
invigorated 0 Report post Posted September 26, 2008 (edited) 3D drawings finally in. Just to share with all. We are still making some admendments. Thanks for viewing. Living Room with platform. Thinking of adding a small feature, maybe those wood stripes, near the entrance instead of the string curtain, must see budget how. What do you think? Kitchen with bar top table. (Cabinet above fridge should be in line with rest of cabinet) Edited September 26, 2008 by invigorated

tower 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 invigorated, Congrats on ur new home. The design sure looks nice! Perhaps you might want to add a shoe storage cabinet cum seats near the main door and some more storage cabinets at the living room (on the side of the wall of your LCD TV). You might be surprised you will run out of storage space over the next few years very soon. As for the strings concept - it might look nice but it may not be practical as it stretches till the walkway. Imagine having to pull it aside whenever you walk thru, quite troublesome. Perhaps you can just terminate it till the edge of the sofa. Just my 5 cents worth of comments!

Wah open concept kitchen, you doing false ceiling in kitchen as well? No la, actually false ceiling stops ard the bar top table, it wasn't shown in the drawing. mmycheng 0 Report post Posted September 27, 2008 Some of my thoughts... The string curtain is nice but not practical. If you're looking to divide the sofa and tv area in your living room, you can try using unusual pieces of furniture, a fish tank, plants etc... In fact, I noticed that you already have a raised platform there so in itself it already visually creates a separate zone. Your MBR and attached bathroom is an interesting concept. Did you hack the wall to create the open concept? How about going for a swivel feature wall? That way you can watch TV from the bed and from the bathroom! hee

Agree that the string curtain doesn't make a practical choice. It was our initial choice but now studying other options too, possible a feature there or something. Actually wanted a fish tank cum cabinet there but it eats into the budget. =(
invigorated 0 Report post Posted September 28, 2008 More updates... Electrical is already in progress and tiles are already in. Kitchen storeroom has also been hacked! Fiancee and I were astounded by how different our kitchen looks like. Think the ex-storeroom there blocked too much light. The wiring, getting ready for the L-box to be up. The kitchen after the storeroom was hacked. The materials and tiles that came in.

Always liked sony screens but too bad beyond budget. Haha, not exactly an LG fan but so happens there was a sale on their TV. Got it for $1400 for their limited sets. For the fridge and washing machine, have been eyeing them for sometime already (for potential buyers, it's 740 and 865 respectively). Did some bargaining on them though. Standard delivery charges at $30. Now still have many more items to go... Edited October 8, 2008 by invigorated
