invigorated 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 Congrats on your new place! Your house is really really in it's orginal glory... ur house is direct mirror image of mine. actually nothing done is good. save $$ on hacking! hehe spam chop your home is like a clean canvas for you to decorate no need to think what to keep Wow, looks like you've to tear down the whole place. Thanks to all for your comments, really overwhelmed by them. Yup, house was really back to basic when we got it from HDB (it's a repurchased unit btw). Gotta spend really quite a bit cos everything is really in it's 'original glory', as aptly commented by typhoonz. Haha.
SmartFool 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 Thanks! Hee, actually got my house many moons ago (about May). Had taken our time to search for an ID we're comfortable in before finally confirming on Alex sometime early last week. Yup, Alex's pretty fast, hacking started once permit was approved. We are also hoping for works to complete by end Oct, before our wedding day in Nov. Haven't bought any furnishing, prob getting wc/basins etc from Indulge (balestier) and still shopping around for electrical stuff and furniture. Feel free to drop in any comments. wow!! my FSM told me 9th Nov was good for me but it was too soon for us congrats!! u can check out some of the forummers comments on bathrooms and electrics! gd luck!! SmartFool 0 Report post Posted September 17, 2008 just went to Mega to buy stuff u can look for Tony at Katong Mall he is quite helpful but i think so far Harvey Normans pxs are actually more competitive just that Mega carries some products that HN doesnt have so can check out HN as well and HN can pay installments. heard that HN having some anniversary sale in Nov (i think) Alternatively, u can look at the neighbourhood electronic shops reasonable prices but they mostly accept cash/credit cards only. have not bought from Indulge so not so sure in fact i haven bought my WCs and sinks hehe u can check out some of the furniture shops at this URL http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2184

Din know that HN stuff are competitive. Found Mega store prices to be at least 10% cheaper and can still bargain sometimes. But must pay extra 2% for credit card and 5% for instalment plan. Will look out for their anni sale if can make it b4 my wedding, hopefully. The URL was helpful, really loads of info there on furniture shops.

From your pic, looks like you're living around 2nd or 3rd floor? Thanks! Yup, it's a low lying floor. Not much of a choice for us then as it's one of the few units available from HDB. mmycheng 0 Report post Posted September 21, 2008 Thanks! Yup, it's a low lying floor. Not much of a choice for us then as it's one of the few units available from HDB. It's a start at least. You have a nice layout to play around with so can maximise that and the greenery you get as a view outside. When's the wedding?
