leecheng_kong 0 Report post Posted September 16, 2008 Is it illegal or against any rules or regulation to remove the blast proof HSS door? Ours is just next to the living and dining room. Many of the IDs gave suggestions on how to hide the HSS door eg use a sliding or swing door to hide it. But 1 of the ID mentioned can just remove it and hide in the HSS behind some partition. Just wondering if it is illegal. Don't want to get . Please advice

TYM 0 Report post Posted September 19, 2008 For HDB HS, there is a instruction pasted on the HS door stating what you can and cannot do. I would think this should be the same for condo cos this is a SCDF requirement.
prodesign 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 I have friends who took these hss doors down and I was told that SCDF advise us not to take down but it is up to owner's discretion.... If there isnt any issue, i really would like to take down mine... it is huge bulky and without any use! waste of space ...

hihihi 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2008 for those house with the bomb shelter facing the living room, the designer must have left part of the brain at home, causing so many people to waste money just to hide the door. The door is pretty easy to remove. just careful that the door will be heavy.... floor protection and maybe standby trolley will be useful.
