niteblu 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Anyone has comments/views on the pricing?
ryan13680 0 Report post Posted September 7, 2008 Search forums for the electrical pricing - looks a bit high. You may want to save money by: Painting kitchen instead of tiling. L-box instead of false ceiling I also notice you have China granite. I think Indian Black Galaxy, though more expensive, is nicer since it is sparkly while China granite is black. If in doubt, as for a sample or request to select the piece before they cut/install it. Also, try to get 3-5 quotes so you have a fair idea what people are asking. Reason being that if you bargain too much, the quality may suffer too. Good luck.

I guess we prefer the non-sparkly look, yes boring Agree about the bargaining bit. Even if you get the squeeeze the cheapest possible quote. It's likely the contracter will get it back somehow during the reno. Figured the electrical was a little bit uncheap. About the Tiles - Hacking & Laying prices? Is that about market or less/more? nativehouse 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2008 Don't know much about other items, as mine is not by spf. But your Electrical items are expensive. My contractor installs a single power point for $45 and double power point for $50. I went to Lego design before and they gave about the same price for that too. h4happy 1 Report post Posted September 12, 2008 Yes, electrical items are indeed very expensive. But try to ask whether they can throw in foc or not. For my case, they throw in free. I save quite alot on that. Don't know much about other items, as mine is not by spf. But your Electrical items are expensive. Plus e labour, u r charge $7psf which is kinda high. Unless e workmanship is beli e gd. Cement & sand suppose 2b included in e haulage part. - e wording 'conceal piping' beli e misleading. - if urs is a resale hdb flat built b4 earlier 90s, then confirm e piping is laid exposed. - e so-called lay new conceal piping means 1stly lay e pipings than 2ndly conceal it inside e carpentry. - additional $ involve is e length of pipings & e nos. of elbow joints esp. stainless steel, not laying conceal piping. - if urs is a reasle flat built late 90s to early 2000s, than e pipings r concealed by hdb. - wen relaying e pipings, u canot conceal e pipings which contain water inside any wall or artificial features. - u can only extend e pipings 2 e new outlet points. - if urs is a pte apt, scenerio wil b kinda different. - wat false ceiling u doing? - >$3k, near to $4k false ceiling?
