I guess I'll just wait for the SP officer, not nice to keep him waiting. :)

Have fun with your reno. Any pics to share? :notti:

Ok, here's some updates on our experience with electricial works and lights.

Cost for electrical works: $2.2K

Cost for lights and ceiling fans: $3K

Total damage: $5.2K!!! :bangwall:

Here's a breakdown of what I did

Additional power sockets:

- 4 sockets for tv console in living rm

- 4 sockets for fish tank, ironing and misc in living rm

- 3 sockets in dining for standing fan and misc (e.g. steamboat dinners)

- 6 sockets in kitchen

- 9 sockets in study

- 3 sockets in WIW

- 4 sockets in MBR

Installation of new lighting points:

- 24 points for downlights

- 2 points for ceiling fans

- 2 points for kitchen

- 1 point for dining light

- 1 point for foyer

- 1 point for vanity cabinet in WIW

Lights and fans purchased (all energy saving bulbs):

- 1 dining light

- 24 downlights

- 1 crystal cube foyer light

- 2 ceiling whitelights in glass for study and WIW

- 2 ceiling whitelights in glass and aluminiun casing for kitchen

- 1 ceiling whitelight in plastic for bomb shelter

- 1 silver ceiling fan 56"

- 1 black ceiling fan 48"

[Pics are all in a link found in my earlier post]

After this experience... lesson learnt and advice to share to all those who have not done up their lighting works....It's not really the type of lights you buy but the NUMBER of lights you have in your house. Most decent and nice-looking lights are all around the same price in Sg (unless you go for the really cheap ones).

If I were to do it again, I would definitely have carefully considered the lighting needs in my design. I found that I couldn't reduce the number of lights to be purchased because it would jeopardise the overall design of my house. Downlights are a big culprit... if you install L-boxes everywhere, you can easily hit 40 pieces...each piece costing an average of $40...u can do the math...

Anyway...no choice...lighting settled...over budget...sighz... so have to try to cut down on other areas... :(

hi mmycheng,

did you do any feature wall to cover the store? any 3d drawing to show? thanks. :)

Yup, did so cos the bomb shelter door is soooo ugly!

It's the black panel behind the dining table.
