Hi folks,

I will be moving to a new place in a couple of months and was thinking of upgrading my home automation to plcbus.

I have been using x10 for the last 8 years.

Is bobby still selling plc bus?

Is there some other newwer tech I should consider instead of plc?

I keep hearing about this "z-wave".

Seem a little ex and limited options?

Btw, got a huge cache of x10 stuffs to sell cheap if anyone interested

Hi Feiwin,

There are a few local companies doing home automation. I dont know if they are doing Z-wave HA or some other standards. I just buy from webstores like Homeseers. Though Z-wave has been around a long time, its quite hard to find suitable UK version (868.41mhz) without costing me an arm or leg.

Both are based in the US but they sell EU version Z-wave products.

@Alex: lol... small hobby group sounds pretty good. Can swap pointers and share resoucres and lobangs.

I did not get from fibaro as they wanted to charge me GST which cost abt 26% more i think. Works out to be abt 100+ per light switch >.<

I hv jus recently got my hands on a duwi light, curtain and appliance switch and their remote controll. Gonna test them out soon. If good then will mass order. Cant wait

They got 'em crystal wall plc switches.

Unfortunately, it requires a neutral wire.

Any bros here got any suggestions?

I think Legrand and MK selling Z-Wave siwthces.

You can find other brand and make online but not too sure if they pass local electrical authority approval.
