I am also looking at the CM15pro as well to use with X10 devices. Have you bought anything to trial yet? I will probably order a couple of stuff for testing... looking to integrate it with my iOS and andriod devices for remote control. Looking forward to seeing ur implementation and setup :)

Hi,

Anyone DIY & got this going in their house?

I m researching into how to get it up to control AC, Lights, Curtains/Blinds, Tv & HiFi.

Ideally Automation do not need me to change switches. Possible?

Iphone, Ipad will be used to control the mentioned. In tat case, your old iphone 3GS ipad 1 or even ipod can be used.

Appreciate if we can discuss & explore together :)

Thanks!

Hi Alex,

Am also attempting some HA. Currently sourcing stage. Have ditched X10 n goin the Z-Wave route. Planning to do light switches n curtain. Will be using Homeseer as my HA software.

If successful, will work on video audio ac and maybe windows when budget allows at a later stage.

Do share :)

Hi Antares,

I m going whichever way is cheaper. For the "brains" I researched and tot this is ideal as u dun have to keep ur pc running.

http://amzn.com/B007005364

My concern is, is there anyway we can keep existing switches other than using awfull looking plugins.

Also for curtains where do u get the mechanism.

Will pm u my msn :)

Hi Antares,

I'm also interested and going for z-wave. Any local distributor? If not, want to source together?

Hi Feiwin,

There are a few local companies doing home automation. I dont know if they are doing Z-wave HA or some other standards. I just buy from webstores like Homeseers. Though Z-wave has been around a long time, its quite hard to find suitable UK version (868.41mhz) without costing me an arm or leg. :P

Right now still trying to find a switch with reasonable pricing for use. I am liasing with fibaro from poland now to try out their Z-wave micromodule.

Sites I bought stuff from

http://store.homeseer.com/store/default.aspx

http://www.smarthome-products.com/

Both are based in the US but they sell EU version Z-wave products.

@Alex: lol... small hobby group sounds pretty good. Can swap pointers and share resoucres and lobangs. :D
