Contractor Quote 1800 For Plastering Whole House, Is It Too Much?

Hi, just got quotation from one contractor, only plastering they quoted 1800 for whole house. The resale flat was painted about at least 10 years ago, and the paint surface is not smooth, just like sand beneath the paint. What is the market price for plastering a 4-A resale flat?

Mine is 4-a resale flat, about 104 sqm.

$1800 for 104sqm is not expensive. I was told can DIY. Maybe u want to try one day do one wall.

one point to note is whether the plastering includes ceiling?

Sure plastering can DIY very easily, actually quite fun to do. But better to get those ready-mixed (in tub or bucket), but not those plaster powder where u have to mix in water b4 use.

Plaster powder I DIY b4:

- too little water=paste, easy to work with, harden too fast

- too much water=watery, don't stick well to wall

Do u need to remove all existing paint layers first? Do u need to remove the pimples or u just apply onto the pimples to flatten it?

I saw ready mix putty selling at home fix stores but smaller ones. Where u buy big tubs from?

hha. i give up. i'm not going to try. juz let de experts do de wk to save time. cost me close to 1800 for mine 104sqm 4room too. but my ceiling is higher at 2.85m

Judging from the inflation of today, I believe it is OK. I used to do mine for a 5 Room (I) type for about S$1800 also.
