I came across a granite table top - I thought it was kind of unique - any idea what are the drawbacks on this?

For Wood tops i know its prone to hot objects.

I agree with that... But Granite is the toughest "rock" surface around. so it's quite ex as well... If you dun mind, can get marble ones as well... but do check out the prices!!! I did some scouting around and realised the same table (wooden table, marble top) have large variance in prices...
