The Home We've Been Looking Forward To

Recommended Posts

:) pulling down the wall was included in the hacking works. My total for hacking works is $2400.

It included

Hacking of all floor tiles in ENTIRE unit (122sqm)

Hacking of wall tiles in both toilets

Hacking of one 6ft wall

Removal of Balcony glass

Removal of kitchen cabinets

Removal of selected window grilles

Haulage

Building the wall cost me $800 (inclusive of door and door frame)

I'll PM you :)

Hi Pinkpetter,

Thanks for the pm. I'll check with him once we decide on how we want to do the place up. Think we most likely going for contractor instead of ID. So now trying to pick up the renovation stuff bits by bits. Your blog is really helpful. Thanks again.

By the way, how's his workmanship ? Ok ma?

His workmanship... generally ok. Stuff that had problems .. I would point out to him and he also changed them for me. So that was good.

The only thing now is that I asked him to come back to do my floor for me but he very busy. Hope he can do it by Friday. haiz.

MBR toilet.

I couldn't take photos of the common toilet and kitchen as the workers were all resting there since they couldn't sit around on the polished floor. There were 6 people there even after 7. I was so grateful that they really try to rush. :sport-smiley-004::sport-smiley-004::sport-smiley-004:

Today is exactly one month from the day we got our keys.

Tomorrow we're moving the Guanyin into the house. The blinds will be installed and Ikea will make its deliveries.

Monday, it's MOVING DAY!

Hi Pinkpetter, is this a one piece wc? how much is it? :dunno:

Yup It's a one piece. :) I have all the prices listed in Page 8 of this blog... I wanted to post the link here for you but it didn't work and I dunno why.

This one piece bowl + my square sink cost $300+ and the same one piece bowl + round sink cost $200+. The toilet bowl is from Baron (brand). I bought them from Eestilo de Vida. :)

:) :) thinking of diy altar also, look simple and nice . . .

:) it's possible! Just remember to use the Fengshui ruler for the right measurements. :) Or you can pick up those altar pamphlets from the Guanyin Temple there... and have a look at the measurements required. :)

WAH yesterday was quite exciting...

Early in the morning... we received a package from Singpost..

18jan1.jpg

OUR DECALS ARE HERE!!! :sport-smiley-004::sport-smiley-004::sport-smiley-004:

There are instructions to go with them and Amanda even included a sample for me to test try before putting up the real ones! So nice right? :) I shall get down to those this afternoon :)

18jan3.jpg

Our coffee table also finally came. :) We were all a little shocked when we saw it cos when we saw it in another shop it was SO SMALL! Anyway I'm relieved that it's big so that the living room doesn't look so empty :P

18jan4.jpg

Then I went out and got these VERY NICE photo frames from DAISO! $2 only and made of glass! nice nice!

I also got the kitchen dustbin *finally* phew. :) But I didn't take a photo of it cos mom hid it.

Very nice photo frames. Very surprise that it's fr Daiso. :)

Ye I was surprised with my find also. There were plenty of people at the photo frames section, luckily I was able to grab a couple before someone else did :P

OUR DECALS ARE UP UP UP!! whoopeee!

This is what the one in the living room looks like!

What it says up close.

decals1.jpg

The chandelier above my bed!

Now we're left with the cherry blossoms for my sister's room which we can only put up tomorrow cos she's away... :P

For your info, the one in the living room was custom made for us. I picked out the quote and emailed Amanda from Decorette. I told them the layout, the colour and size I needed and she showed me a draft before I paid. Paid on Wednesday and it arrived on Saturday in mint condition! :)

** On a sidenote**

Today I really learnt a lesson. The decals were easy to put up but you have to be systematic when scraping the sides and corners. I am not such a person. But when I saw the work needed, I knew the perfect person to do it.

My dad. And I was right.

He meticulously scraped every corner not missing even an mm. And he fussed when we were putting it up on the wall. The credit really should go to him. :)
