priyalok 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2008 I am planning for laminate flooring in my bedrooms. As I must take care not to spill water, just curious how to protect: - area near toilet - area near windows - must close window all times when going out in case it rains? yokine9a 1 Report post Posted August 28, 2008 - area near windows - must close window all times when going out in case it rains? Yes, make it a habit. In fact, I even close the windows of my kitchen, utility room & living room when I go out though laminated flooring is only installed in the bedrooms. yokine9a 1 Report post Posted August 29, 2008 ur perfectly right. what about area near toilet door? any special door mat? This one I can't comment cos I have no master bedroom toilet I reckon making a kerb outside the toilet will help. Also, a mat with rubber layer at the bottom is better, so that water will not sip thru & go into the laminated flooring. Just my common sense thinking

But I am a bit kiasu, I use Sofix once a month to make my floor feels smoother.

But a rubber mat will actually trap water beneath it if you're not careful, so best to use carpet rug instead. How do u clean and maintain supremem laminate floor? Best way to maintain laminate and wooden floors is to damp mop with water (wring tightly first) once, then dry mop again. The cleaning agent can be used once a week, depending on your level of traffic. Cheers.
