yoongf 11 Report post Posted August 12, 2008 Need to take note.. that hand brush painting will not give that flat smooth painting achieved by spray painting. Need to manage expectations.
sunset 0 Report post Posted August 12, 2008 Are you painting yourself or getting the id to paint for you?
beagle 0 Report post Posted August 14, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the replies. Hi sinner, I came across a vanish removal at one DIY shop. So if I use this, the naytoh door will become "brand new and unvanished". I then do a base coat with sealer, apply gloss enamel paint over. Will this work? Regards. Need to take note.. that hand brush painting will not give that flat smooth painting achieved by spray painting. Need to manage expectations. Hi yoongf, The first step would still be to remove vanish and make it to brand new. Which spray painting would do the job? Regards Hi sunset, Are you painting yourself or getting the id to paint for you? I am getting ID to paint for me the whole house but ID say cannot be done because Naytoh door cannot absorb coloured paint. But when I ask the tilers, some say cannot and some say can be done. Probably I will do it myself. Regards. Edited August 14, 2008 by beagle

So it can be done but think it takes them one whole day to paint it.

beck 0 Report post Posted September 11, 2008 hi beagle, does the $50 include painting of the frame also?
cruz 0 Report post Posted September 12, 2008 Your ID is prob lazy or don't wanna go tru the hassle. Nyatoh wood can be painted. If the wood is new and unpainted, sealer aka undercoat must be used. If the wood already comes with varnish or painted, then gotta sand down the door before painting it. I've done up many nyatoh doors using paint. No problem. No peeling or paint cannot absorb. It boils down on how you paint it. You have to use undercoat for a brand new unpainted wood.
LittleDevil 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2008 We also don't like the original colour of the naytoh wood door which is a bit reddish brown. So we asked our ID to paint it to white colour. No problem at all.
