Journey In Building Our Heaven On Earth Lovenest

Recommended Posts

Hi eveybody, :)

Finally decided to start the reno blog after reading and receiving tons of ideas and experinces shared by the forumers . It is time to share our joyful journey to the newbies and get comments and advise from the expert/ experience ones. :

After our four attempts of balloting within 2 years and almost going into the crazy resale market, finally our wish and faith are answered. We got our dream home location at Tanglin Halt from the Jan 08 Balloting exercise. ALthough we did not get a very good queue number but at least our house is tall and scenic enough for our liking, I would say the wait is worth while. :dancingqueen

Let the journey begins:

Property : Tanglin Halt Blk 89 (90 sqm)

ID/Contractor : Kelvin (NUSPACE) reno cost (all in $30k )

Key collection and door opening: 5th July 08

Dong-Tu : 12th Jul 08

Completion date: Mid Sep 08

Shifting in date: Oct 08

ROM and wedding : 1st Nov 08

Move to stay in Date : 2nd Nov 08

Purchases to be made/ bought (budget S$20k)

1. Sofa + dinning table/ 6 chairs + coffee table ($3.6k)

2. LG Washing machine and fridge ($1130)

3. Slumberland queen bed with frame ($1898)

4. Toshiba System 3 inverter aircon + system 1 non inverter ($3.8k)

5. Sumsung 32" TV HD ready (LCD) - MBR ($1089)

6. Sumsung 40" TV full HD (LCD) - Living room ($1.7k)

8. Pioneer HTS ($399)

9. Whole house lights ($2500)

10. Uno cooker hood & hob (from Hoe Kee $500)

11. Kitchen/ MBR Sinks and taps (from Hoe Kee $633)

12. Curtain ( budget $1k)

Here is our floorplan

This floor plan is my initial plan, and my ID has made better changes to it. So stay tune for more... :good:

hi,

my built in cabinet is pole system. So that corner infront of the A/ C window i'm hanging clothes. So if need to do servicing which is once a year, will have to remove all hangers and the horizontal pole. That will solve the problem. :good:

Actually the renovation has started for 2 weeks, therefore need to rewind back to show the start state of the house before the reno.

This is our living room, we love the enlongated living room and we decide to place more mirror to make it more bigger.

This is our kitchen, surprisingly, it is not as small as we expected. Just nice for small family cooking. And my mum love it as she cooks well.

This is our small bedrooms , one word to describe= Pathethic

This is our MBR, although it is not big, but we still like it. We plan to extend a feature wall to place our LCD tv.

And this is our bathrooms. We plan to relay the tiles in MBR bathroom to be resort style.

Looks like your reno is progressing very well! Love the mosaic tiles in your MBR toilet. Are you gonna custom make your big big mirror?

What kind of lightings did you buy? Like u, I also spent abt $2k on lightings alone, bought them from both S'pore & USA. ;)
