RawR 0 Report post Posted October 8, 2008 Updates on Shopping[/ Thailand Bought some toilet fixtures from Thailand~ Bought 2 table lamps too~ still in the box unassembled~ & 2 cute toilet seat cover! will take photo when got time ^^ Stove & Hob Went to Jalan Besar on Monday, found Poh Joo very friendly~ Spoke with Benjamin there, nice uncle figure, not pushy, friendly and willing to explain Apparently, the SMEG stove I have my eyes on costs a whooping 2000++ forgot how many hundreds.. and the hood is 3299 X_X""" Had strike them off my list... Maybe going for Rinnai Katana Hood + Stove, although not that pretty, it's much much kinder on the pocket at $1048 for one set. Uncle at Poh Joo told me that there are 2 new models for Rinnai hood and gave me the address for the showroom~ Haven't went there see since coughing badly >< If gonna take Rinnai, think will take the oven too Sink For sink, had more or less settled for this~! Wanted a small refuse bin, since my countertop got only 300mm left between sink and stove, thought this may work well for me~ 880L x 470W x 195D @ $299, if add soap dispenser add $39, sink spray add $39 Fridge On the same Monday, me and HB went to Alexandra at night. Met Jozef at Hong Liang to find out prices for some electronic items. He's extremely friendly too! First sale person I've met that after talking to us for 1/2 hour, ask us to buy closer to our move-in date to take advantage of dropping electronic prices~! Amazing how he can remember most of the models.. so many brands and models X_X As for fridge, I was at first planning to get the Fisher & Paykel E411TRX fridge due to the 4 tick energy rating. Jozef explained to us that the fridge at $1380 vs a 3 tick fridge at $800, it'll take ages for the energy saving to cover. Did some checking on the NEA website, the F&P fridge (377L) will costs about $142 per year to operate vs a Hitachi 3 tick fridge of 363 liters cost $187 per year. Making an assumption, F&P fridge costs $0.377 per liter per year, Hitachi costs $0.511 per liter per year thus for same capacity, Hitachi costs about $193 per year i.e. a $51 difference per year... with a 7 years depreciation, that's about $360 cost difference, i.e. the max price for the Hitachi we should pay is less than $1020. I think it may cost $800 only!! So we got $200 to cater for the increase in electrical prices~! Think will have to recheck fridge to see which ones look nicer and is 'cost effective' Updates on Home Design Going abit craze over the house design... can't seem to get the feel I was hoping to get T_T Met with Patrick from Hobee last Sunday at the flat, waiting for his quotation now... Got an ID we are comfy with from Gplan, quotation seems okie too, but still wanna hear from Patrick since he got such good reviews from renotalk

RawR 0 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 Found that the design is abit lacking in something... still cannot figure out where, but got advice and inspiration to try out lines from living extending to kitchen. Here's the first trial, think it's abit noisy with the painting + artwork, will try removing it and see how it looks. Any comments if it looks better with the lineworks?? Thanks
Angel81 1 Report post Posted October 10, 2008 I tink it looks very interesting. And it will visually lengthen ur living room. Maybe if ur artwork is a different one (not those abstract lines and paints type), it won't look so noisy. Maybe u can try with a large scenery foto or sth? Or if u like those abstract pics, then find those with same colors as ur lines?

Thanks yes, i also think painting + artwork make the house looks heavy and smaller, plus the lines TV console...hmmmm sort of distracting. think your ceiling design also plays an important feature to the whole house. design 1: same level ceiling make the whole house looks like one piece, like a 1 room flat (hope you don't mind my lousy description).
