Hi guys need help owners esp ,please give me your comment on to use granite or solid surface vanity top , like granite for it hardness but then solid surface plp say more water resistant and of course also cheaper so need user here to advice me tks guys ya

well i would go for granite anytime

granite is water resistant too if sealed correctly

and the better quality solid surfaces can cost up to $160pfr

Actually if cost is not a concern, I would prefer granite too. At least scratches are less obvious.

Granite please, I took solid surface just because it's cheaper by $200 and regretting it still ...

I am also using granite for vanity.

It is a better choice as it is more scratch resistant than SS.

It is harder than SS and only second to diamond. Also water resistant.

After moving in for abt 3 mths, my kitchen SS top has scratches but luckily i did not chose black...so it is not visible.

If price is not a concern and difference is not alot, go for granite.

cool.....we are going with granite too.....for the kitchen top....think need to confirm with our Id if our vanity top is granite too... :-)

I'm going to ask a stupid question..why not marble top in kitchen ? I'm actually deciding what top to put for my vanity and as my wall tiles are marble..its only natural to have it back in marble but this is what is left by previous owner..its either OMG :o SQ crew are only good on the outside..she's such a mess at home ! =x

or the quality of the marble top sucks........so i'm like deciding to put granite top....though the colour doesnt match.. :dunno: so out of the norm a sudden tot... which came to my query..since marble and granite can be replaced interchangably in a way.. as they are close in terms of looks and properties..not sure why no one use marble for kitchen top..unless the pricing differs..from what i know i tot its almost similar in terms of pricing .... :unsure:

Marble is porous hence difficult to maintain. So having it in the kitchen as counter top is not too advisable. Better to use granite.
