Am seeking to claim against the developer and need to engage a marble expert. Does anyone know a good marble expert with the relevant certifications? Please assist to recommend. Thanks. wuga98 0 Report post Posted July 26, 2008 sorry did not fully understand your question, why is the developer not responsible for the repair work?. If your place is "new", i assume you must have some years/mths of warranty for defects. and if you fall within this period, the main con that the developer used have to provide the rectification you do not need certification/marble expert to be engaged. Unless both parties has a different classification on these defects. One says is a defect but not the other and the dispute can only be validated by an expert. if i am you, i would just talk to the main con and if not the developer and have these resolve and if it's going to be an impasse, sue their rat a*s. During the process, all these assessment will be a necessity for a verdict. There will be colour and markings caused by their complex mineral composition and incorporated impurities. While such materials can be pre-selected before installation, this non-conformity in the marble, limestone or granite as well as non-uniformity between pieces cannot be totally avoided. Granite tiles are prepolished before laying and care has been taken for their installation. However granite, being a much harder material than marble cannot be re-polished after installation. Hence some differences may be felt at the joints. *Subject to Clause 14.3, the tonality and pattern of the marble, limestone or granite selected and installed shall be subject to availability. blueyben 0 Report post Posted July 27, 2008 The architect have already verified that the colour of the marble is acceptable however the grouting is not acceptable and should be redone completely.
