Thx for sharing the price. In case really need to resort to this avenue, any particular recommendation from ur friend of crane hiring companies that will hire out for just an hour? will definitely take note of the main door dimensions from here on. thx
yoongf 11 Report post Posted July 23, 2008 The $550 is only for the crane + operator. U still need to have more workers to demarcate safety zone, and also to help hook/unhook the load. Furthermore.. unless yr flat is next to a open carpark, with no obstruction such as trees, the crane option is not feasible. 9 Flr also mean u need at least a 50 Tonne crane, not the normal 20T that is commonly seen . 50T crane.. got long waiting list these days. For furniture.. is seldom the main door give problem. Is always the lift door height. King Matt biggest headache.

However will be costly with extra workers and platform to secure furniture hoisting it up 9 flrs. We got someone to quote us and he said cost outweighs price of couch. Now hoping furniture shop can detach armrest to move it in b4 reattaching. Sigh major headache.

Test 0 Report post Posted July 24, 2008 that must be some special couch you've got there, to be willing to go through all this trouble. good luck! Nothing too extraordinary lah, just that having tried so many couches, finally found one that is nice looking and comfy hugging to body while fitting our budget. Also we waited over 3 mths for it to be imported over . Hence quite an anti climax when couch can fit thru door. Sigh pixs of ur sofa please!!! and good luck man have not seen a crane hauling up a sofa b4 as well Dont have pic. But just a simple clean lined extremely comfy sofa. Nothing too extraordinary. have heard of crane hauling up BIG and THICK glass panels up 3rd or 4th storey hdb for FISH SIAO's fish tank. Thats a bit way over the top. anyways, the shop has offered to change our couch from 3 seater to 2.5 seater but need to wait another 3 mths! Sigh. No choice.
