Depends on what type of aquarium you want and how committed you are to looking after it. There are fresh water, marine, planted etc... and you can spend anything from tens of dollars to thousands! I suggest you do some research on the Net first to get a rough idea.

I'm doing up a 4ft tank for my tortoise at my new place. A couple of other friends who are also into keeping aquariums are doing up theirs around the same time. If interested, I can provide you some simple advice...but only after you know roughly what you're looking for..

I got recommended to Atlantis previously... but I didn't enquire further after one of my frens told me he was quoted $6K for a 4ft planted aquarium designed as a divider in his living room... :jawdrop:

However, i do admit their stuff is very very nice...the money also very nice...hee :notti:

Tank size varies depending on what you intend to keep. If you are keeping arowana or fishes that can get too big, obviously a large tank is required. For planted with tetra/angel, 2ft is suffice but i have seem 6ftx1x2(H) planted tank.

I will setup a 6ft tank at my dinning area for monster fishes.

Nice fish tank has to come with nice cabinet as well. I suggest you visit some local fish shops such as C328 ( @ Clementi Blk 328) or QianHu to take a look first. At least u will get a rough idea on what you r really looking for.

Do not go for Alantis for their marine setup. Thier system dun really works. You can go to www.sgreefclub.com for marine setup advise or www.aquaticquotient.com for freshwater setup advise.
