Minor Reno Expenses (opinion Needed)

Hi guys... newbie here...

recently jus bot a 5I in the north, and thinking of doing some small reno on the ceiling and lighting.

well i need your advice on quote that i just got.

false ceiling and L boxes for LR, DR and MBR - $2400

rewiring of 32 lighting points excluded 2nd, 3rd BR, kitchen,(is this too much?) - $950

cost of all new lighting - $1250

painting $900

i would like to know if this quotation is ok... also i would like to know if in the living room good to have downlight (warm light) in L box and at the same time have those skylight or wat they call the hidden light in the L box? im not sure if this has been done by someone, but im thinking it taking too many points, consume about 16 points in the LV alone plus another point for fan and another ceiling light.. is this too much? :S...

then in the DR there is a false ceiling and at the same time come with the island with also another out bound skylight (8 points) plus another 1 point for above the dining table.

then in the MBR there will be 4 new downlight points and 2 ceiling points....

all together comes almost 6k.. is tat too much for false ceiling, lighting and painting only? need some advice here.. thank you all bro and sis

Rewiring is not cheap. Is this quote from contractor or ID?

The quoate for painting is very cheap. Usually abt 1.4K to paint whole flat (wall, ceiling, pipes etc). Better re-check scope of what is included in painting.

Also does cost of lighting include installation?

Can try to knock down the price of L-box/palstering a little I guess.

well the final price was 1k for 37 points of lighting, include the MK switches....

the painting still the same price, and according to him yes, the paint will include pipe but not doors..

and list of light tat im gonna install is 18x4ft floresence 6x2ft floresence, 13xsquare downlight, 1 entrace light, and 1 plc... tat cost me 1020 include installation...

as for the Lbox and false ceiling final price was 2180.. still too much? :S
