But alkaline water can give to

Newborn ?

My 2 kids drank alkaline water since 2 mth old. Everything seems fantastic... Currently they are 2 1/2 and 1 1/2.

They hardly fall sick after the body gets the initial virus n bacterial infection.

So far they are on a record - free from sickness 6mths and counting!

Cheers!

A few years back, I received a Hyflux Water Filtration Pitcher Model P18 as a house warming gift. I have 3 toy dogs at home. I have always given them water straight from the tap. I decided to filter their drinking water using this Hyflux Filtration system thinking that it must be good for them to drink specially treated water. About a month later, while I was grooming my dogs and examining their teeth as part of my routine, I discovered to my shock and horror that their teeth had turned completely black. I brought them to the vet and he said he need to scale and polish their canine teeth. All my 3 dogs had to undergo general anesthesia as the vet is unable to clean their teeth while they are awake because they will struggle with the vet during the procedure. I had to spent $600 in order to save their teeth because if left untreated, their teeth will decay and drop out permanently and all of us will have **** for the rest of the dogs lives. :bangwall:

You don't need to be an expert to know that the Hyflux Filtration system filtered out all the fluoride from the tap water resulting in my dog's teeth turning black and decaying. I am still using the Hyflux Pitcher for my own consumption but never again for the dogs after that costly experience.

Hi Dave,

It's really interesting that you would say such a thing. For one very simple reason, filter systems DO NOT filter 100% fluoride. In fact fluoride being the smallest chemical molecule it's very difficult for most filtration system to remove more than 70%. Only distillation n RO systems will provide that 99-100% removal. However there are other issues from this method of filtration which i've covered.

Your dogs could have other additional issues that lead to the blackening of teeth.

Hope that clears up the air.

Cheer

That was my Vet's opinion, not mine but I agree with his opinion. You just said the filter system will not be able to remove more than 70% of the fluoride, seems then that removal of at least 50% of the fluoride is good enough to cause my dogs teeth to turn black. I rather trust my Vet's opinion than any other person especially when he has been my Vet for more than 20 years.

Our toothpaste has fluoride and I think it will help in fighting tooth decay...but I dont think you brush your dog's teeth.... :yamseng:

In fact, from what my friends is telling me, in the states people are beginning to question if fluoride is harmfull to the body. Here is an interest link http://fluoridedangers.blogspot.com/2006/01/fluoride-harmful.html,

Of cousre I m not in the medical industry, so can't comment much, but personally, I would rather to keep fluoride for brushing teeth and out of my tummy.... :dancingqueen:

It is true I don't brush my dogs' teeth although I am supposed to brush them every few days. I depended on those addictive/chemicals that I added to my dogs' drinking water but I never expected the fluoride that is added to our tap water to be more effective than those costly addictive/chemicals. You are right that in recent years people started to question the wisdom of adding fluoride to our tap water but our Govt is claiming that tooth decay rates fell dramatically in the general population after they started adding fluoride to our tap water in the 1970s.

I am keen in getting Jupiter Alphion too but one thing is I find that getting a container to store my acidic water very troublesome.

Er....I am getting a little confused, so which is better, Alkaline Water or Acidic Water? :dunno:

I am not totally sure about the fluoride issue. There are 2 schools of thoughts here, we'll see who will emerge the winner after 1 generation. Canada if I am not wrong is flouride free. In Singapore the concentration is relatively weaker than the limits set by the WHO standards, so I guess is pretty safe.

Dogs like other animals seems to be able to thrive in the wild without much interference from human interventions. Not sure why as pet problems start to arise. One possible reason is the food we eat and possibly give them.

It's part and parcel of extracting or should I say separating the benefits of the water we have.

Alkaline water is essentially important for neutralizing and/or balancing our acidic food intake and our lifestyle issues. Water ionizers are classified as medical devices and are used as treatment in certain conditions of the body in both Japan n Korea.

Acidic water is essentially used externally to kill bacteria. The troublesome aspects of thinking how to use the acidic water is unfounded. I used it for washing my kids bottles and plates (actually helps save water due to the acidic ability to neutralize soap residue) acidic wate is used for other purposes such as gargling (the Flouride n chloride help prevent tooth decay). There are numerous ways to use them but you will need to cross the barrier of storing the acidic water.

Hope that helps

Definitely the food. Too much processed food. My grandma's Pomeranians were fed natural foods their entire life and the male lived to 23 years old while the female died at age 21. In human terms, that is well over 100 years.

Question: If I used all these products, doesn't that mean I am dead meat if I were to ever visit India or some other 3rd world country where the water quality is questionable since I have now trained my body to adapt to High Class Water. :jawdrop: Heard of the saying, Dirty Eat Dirty Grow.

Lol, interesting to put it like that.

The body does not work that way. In regards to water, our body will react to infections such as parasites, bacteria, virus or other contaminants in the water. However our bodies will not "Fall sick" if we decide to change to bottled water or tap water (if drinkable) after drinking "Higher class" water types.

Hope that helps!

If you want purely RO water, you may like to consider ELKEN. I currently have one unit at home which can disperse luke warm water and hot boiling water. Cost approx. 1.5k for the whole unit (i purchased this last year)...

Maintenance wise,

Pre filter cost approx 15$ (this is the filter that filter out the dirt before water goes into your water dispenser).

Inside the system, got another 3 sets of filters or 4 set. Total cost to replace all 4 sets should be around 300 plus, if i rem correctly....

you can search for ''elken RO water'' on youtube to know more...

Sorry, I am not selling these RO or pushing this...just find this a convenient way to get clean RO water....

let me know if you need more details...

i got fren who sell...hahaa

and just to clarify, i dont earn from this. Just sharing what i am using...

Mods, sorry, if this is deemed as advertising, you can remove my post.

many thanks.
