LittleDevil 0 Report post Posted July 25, 2008 Some more pictures of our MBR... Here is our special cozy corner... the seatee adds some storage space to the MBR as well... Our WIW.. the left side... the right side... hopefully the full height mirror will create an illusion of space... now it looks quite tiny... The master toilet vanity top... very dark, can't see very well... probably will look brighter with the mirror lightings on... A close up of the vanity cabinet surface... not very clear but I like the glossy, reflective surface

You can get from a authorised hardware shop in upper bukit timah area by Blum. It cost ard $3.00 for a blum hinge and the soft closing mechanism. I was quoted $16 by my ID which i did not take up. Althought it is much cheaper, you have to factor in other costs like labour and ID profits and etc..

But we haven really settle on the actual cost. Verbally, he told us is ard $10stopper& hinges. I called Blum to check the price and passed the findings to my ID since he said he would charge me according to the supplier's price. Actually I will be using only stopper for normal kitchen cabinet doors. But for the frosted glass cabinet doors, since it is heavier, I will be using the hinges. Fittings for a door would need 2 hinges and so probably is about $7. Plus the stopper, then will be close to $10. So the pricing should be about the same as yours. The drawer I have asked Blum distributor too. A typical size (20") is about $45. The bigger the drawer, the more expensive it becomes. You can call Hong Li Hardware (64558650) or Kiang Sing Hong (63682220) to check out the supplier's prices. These two numbers are given to me by Blum.

porkypig 0 Report post Posted July 28, 2008 Kiang Sing Hong Upper Bukit Timah branch : 67600365 Kiang Sing Hong Sungei Kadut Warehse: 63682220 I was quoted a price of $120 and $60 for one drawer runner. So it is depends on contractor and how much is your reno cost... I think if the price difference is not too much. Don't bargain too much and let your contractor do so as to ensure a good job done. If not he may just do a shabby job... I think he may rip you off again if you have additional things in the later stage...hehe You know..save initially, but later kena carrot...... From my opinion, blum hinge is just as the same normal hinge. The soft closing mechanism is just a clip on to the hinge. Anyone can just do it...So don't kena deceive by your ID who may tell you a nice story...

I think this brand does have an edge in terms of quality.
