Advise On Quote

Hi, everyone..

I currently a noob in this area.. I still in search of the ideal contractor for my reno. Managed to find this forum by luck. Hope some one can post me some advise on the quote and pm me some great contractors that has done a good job for ur reno. My budget is ard 10-12k but this guy quote me 15 k.. -.-"

PLASTERING & PAINTING WORK

1 To supply & paint whole unit wall & ceiling by using ICI or NIPPON emulsion paint. 1,200.00

2 To supply & construct plaster board false ceiling cum light box holder ****/dining hall. 1,680.00

OTHER WORK

1 To supply & construct kitchen cabinet base , washing machine base & fridge base. 380.00

2 Haulage & debris removal charge & area cleaning by using chemical. 380.00

3 To supply & install 5 nos PLC down light **** hall false ceiling. 350.00

4 To supply & install 8 nos fluorescent lamp **** hall light holder. 320.00

5 To provide labour to install 8nos ceiling light. 100.00

CARPENTRY WORK

Note : By using selected laminate finishing

Internal by using PVC white finishing

1 To supply & install top & bottom kitchen cabinet by using PVC 4 side ABS trimming solid door c/w:-(approx17ft)

i) 4 nos drawer set

ii) Designer handle

iii)s/s dish tray 3,400.00

2 To supply & install solid surface at kitchen cabinet worktop. (approx 17ft) 1,360.00

3 To supply & install 1 no wooden frame with glass panel bi-fold door at kitchen entrance. 780.00

4 To supply & install feature wall with tv console **** hall. 1,920.00

5 To supply & install 1 no wall feature with 1 no swing door at house hold shelter wall. 1,800.00

6 To supply & install 1 no wooden door sliding door built-in-wardrobe at master bedroom. (approx 8ft) 1,760.00

TOTAL AMOUNT 15,430.00

What ur view on this? Kinda of expensive? My flat is a 5 room. Anyone with good and reliable contractor please pm me. Thanks :)

wa !!!, the carpentry is very ex leh !!! double of market rate !!! kitchen cabinet market rate is about $90-100 per ft, your quote is $200. why do you need 17ft solid top ? if your 17ft kitchen cabinet is both top & bottom, then the most you only need about 9ft solid top.

Thanks Big money. That a very important point that you have point out. I think that very expensive too. The contractor just decide everything and push me the quote. Anyway, no harm done as it is just a quote. I am still looking for new quote here and there.

the lowest quote i got was $70 pfr for solid top and $85pfr for cabinets., but i settle with my ID who charged me only a bit higher coz he give me 3 pcs of glass doors for cabinets in steel/aluminium frame :D

the highest quote pfr i got is $120 - $130 for cabinets and only 2 pcs of glass doors.. and i never stepped into that place again.

my own reno havnt even start yet so i cant tell u if it will be good. as for the rest, best you can visit their showrooms urself to make a more accurate judgement. cheers
