lawry 3 Report post Posted June 14, 2008 They were using it as a stool or short ladder. It's ridiculous, I walked in one day to find my paper lantern in a brown bag in the middle of the room too. On top of it was paint and circle marks. It was a flatten delicate paper lantern wrapped in brown paper, they used it as "cushion" for their paint bucket to protect my laminated floor, don't they have some basic sense to look into the brown paper bag first before they use it as a ground sheet? I confronted him and he got the cheek to suggest that "I anyhow put". WTF?? Where in the house should I be hiding my things then? Everything was stacked in "my corner" together with lights, bulbs, toilet bowls, sinks & accessories. I gave him a good piece of mind and got him to replace/compensate me for that item. They were here for a paint job and they forgot their necessary tools, went to ransack my stuff, used my masking tape (I can forgive that) and then accuse me of "anyhow put??" lawry 3 Report post Posted June 14, 2008 (edited) Err, where is this better place that you are suggesting? I conscientiously arranged for all the items (hood, hob, lights, bulbs, sink, taps, toilet fixtures, accessories) to be delivered AFTER the major works were done, like hacking, ceiling works, wetworks, tiling and laminated flooring. Just left with door installation, painting and carpentry. Besides my own place where the items can readily be retrieved/accessed when they are needed for installation. I couldn't and still can't think of anywhere else apart from one of the empty rooms where no carpentry or unnecessary disturbance would normally occur. I've taken some effort to arrange them in a pile neatly so that they don't look like they are trash waiting to be thrown or something people with no business with should be prying into, even cordoned off the area with masking tape. Trust me, I would have locked that room if there were doors at that time. I've done the best I could possibly do to deliver the message, anything I missed out? hihihi 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2008 No offense ah..but pple are doing reno on ur place & u put such fragile tings in ur house..arnt there any better place to put? that oven box is too big to enter the bomb shelter door, so no choice I put in one corner on fridge base, plus, I PASTED A NOTICE... next time I need to write in Bangla language as well.. Or put some barb wires.. That person painted the ceiling, when he's not supposed to have started ANY painting according to the schedule. When I confronted him, he of coz say it's not him. I'm gonna complain to his boss when I next see him.
lawry 3 Report post Posted June 14, 2008 I'm bad, I was half hoping that the box would give way and the oven cave in with someone standing on it. But hey, you will get to demand a new oven! Honestly, it's common sense. No amount of signage would help. And some people just don't have it. PS. I love that barb wire idea.
latitude 0 Report post Posted June 15, 2008 sometimes workers just purposely wnat to piss you off. my experience with curtain maker: two guys came to my place to take measurements. i told them the wall has just been painted so beware of wet paint (wall is actually dry but I told them wet so that wouldnt touch it BUT... ) after they left I found writing of numbers in pencil next to the window! very faint & they thought I can't see... What the! I called the curtain shop and scold right away and told him I dun want to see these two guys at my place when they deliver and install the rods.
