nath.adrie 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2008 Hi all, Anyone know how I can "recondition" my wrough iron handrail? The wrough iron handrail installed by previous owner has rusted and the colour looks dull. Some contractors told me that the only way to really recondition is to send for regalvanizing. And to do that, they will have to remove the whole handrail and send it to factory. If just apply paint, the paint might not stick and will make the handrail looks ugly. But the problem of removing the handrail is costly and high chance of damage the flooring, which I don't wanna change. And one contractor even quoted me $1,300 for repainting the handrail, telling me that special paint is required and it involves a lot of work. True?
