Wireless Home Theatre System - Panasonic Or Sony

Recommended Posts

I'm keeping a lookout for wireless HTS, and have narrowed down to 2 models

1. Panasonic SC-PT865 (http://asia.cnet.com/reviews/home_av/others/0,39037621,43187238p,00.htm)

2. Sony DAV-DZ870KW (http://www.sony.com.sg/product/dav-dz870kw/sku/davdz870kw%252Fcsp1?site=hp_en_SG_i)

Incidentally both cost S$999. Was told that Sony does not support some formats of DVD9, unlike Panasonic. However it seems that Sony supports more audio format than Panasonic, e.g. SA-CD.

Anyone owns either of these 2 sets? Is the threat of RF interference overhyped? Like to hear some comments...thanks!

Hi

You can get this both models at $899 (neighborhood shops).

Sorry, dont understand what you mean by "Sony dont support some formats of DVD9". What kind of formats you talking about?

SACD compatible is if you owned SACDs. Otherwise its totally no use.

As for interference, why dont u try it out? Ask your friend to call you on your mobile (with your HTib playing & youre inside your home). Signal drop & loss of sound is pretty common for wireless technology.

Cheers

Vince

Thanks for your feedback.

Apparently the salesperson said that Sony doesn't support DVD9 format, which include pirated DVDs.

I do own several SACD, so that would come in handy if the player supports the feature.

Anyway, will check out nbood shops for a better deal!
