Hi SYTan, I also haven done that part yet, as i wanted to put the wooden plank over it, like the limiated flooring. But was quoted for 1k+ for that, so still considering as my reno already over budget liao. If my ID willing to discount me, i may do lor. But 1k+ for 3rm is really out of my budget now. SYTan 0 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 That's really expensive! I was thinking of having a shelf there but then again, it's gonna block the windows so i am keeping it open until i have more ideas. =/

patsy_sg 1 Report post Posted July 1, 2008 Hi steve.. hb works in the wood industry and he said if you use those type of woods used for cabinetry there is a tendency to warp over time... but using solidl wood is really expensive, costs about $1.5 k but more lasting. If you plan to stay in the place long, maybe you can consider solid wood. Just a suggestion coz we were faced with this issue for our new place also... Sorry sorry.. i heard wrongly, you CANNOT put solid wood in this area if there is sunlight at that is what is going to warp. Better to use plywood with veneer (but must use one piece veneer, not joined) good thing I double checked with him!! sorry for the wrong info
