I think i remember seeing something similar at Poh Joo, from the brand Rubine, but I'm not sure how much. Poh Joo is not bad. I went a 2 times to check prices before buying and they have been patient. Prices they charge are lower than what's listed on the price tag. http://www.rubine.com.sg/
hihihi 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2008 Thanks all. Rubine I have the cataloge, got it from Poh Joo.
groovygenie 0 Report post Posted June 5, 2008 Brand wise may not be the same, Poh Joo's is MN, but design and looks wise it is certainly 99% the same OEM from same factory probably, just like Elba and Brandt. Did you go the Hoe Kee at IMM or Plaza Sing? Maybe its the location, hence the mark up. Poh Joo is at a shop house in Jalan Besar. Bought our storage heater, a tap, bidets and bathroom mirror with storage from there too, its quality stuff with reasonable pricing. I like Poh Joo's service actually. Sometimes, they may be understaffed, but don't be discouraged. Just wait for the opportunity, so far we've been served by 3 SEs at the Jalan Besar outlet near Lavender foodcourt, all are good! Their product knowledge is excellent! I guess Poh Joo is unpretentious with quality goods, we like! ah! really??? wow! same brand?? and to tink i paid extra $60for it. http://www.pohjoo.com/kitchen.html i didnt give have more time to checkout other place that day cuz already 5plus and we bought the sink at hoe kee. if more time i wouldav gone to poh joo to check it out. then i must go there earlier to and check out and compare my other mixers and hobs and hoods! how's the service at poh joo? i quite like hoe kee. but dun like adamas. oh! And can choose want to have big bowl on the left or on the right.

So the same model they may have different placing of bowls. no one told me during my shopping for sink so i only chose what i see. err hee.. i went to Jalan Beser one leh. But i can tell u the price for all items that Hoe Kee is selling should be same from all showrooms. cuz i went to 2 showrooms IMM and Jalan Besar and found the same sink selling same price. i should let my bf noe we can go there earlier to shop and compare price. so far how long have u been using ur items? still good and no rust hee.. Thanks all. hihihi 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 hey hihihi i think they picture u posted looks very much like the one in rubine Jux 860 1 3/4bowl that one has the big bowl on the right, I looking for the big bowl on the left. Sorry for being such a picker
groovygenie 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Oh, 'MN' is Poh Joo's in-house brand i think, short for 'Morning'. Oh, i remembered correctly, the display price was $300something, but straight away gave us $260. Their pricing reasonable i guess, that is what i like. (If you are buying lights, try Lightcraft, also transparent pricing) Well, for Brandt and Elba (refering to washing machine at least), they come from the same factory in Turkey. It is strange but true, that you can find washing machines from Brandt and Elba with the same designs! Everything, except for the colour and brand logo, hehe. Just like most LCD tvs have their panels manufactured by Samsung The person at Poh Joo will ask which side you want the big bowl, so that is a good point since we have very limited space in new flat. Oh, haven't used actually, still renovation, but from research, Poh Joo's products have good reviews on this forum. And between Sim Siang Choon and Poh Joo, still prefer Poh Joo, more 'serious' and specialised manufacturer in our minds what is MN? u mean elba is OEM from Brandt? lxiul 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 that one has the big bowl on the right, I looking for the big bowl on the left. Sorry for being such a picker heehee.. me also want big bowl on left too haha.. thats why i chose my sink. maybe can ask them if the same model can switch the big bowl to left or not. Hoe kee cannot bargain one. they say fix price. unlike poh joo like what groovygenie say poh joo can discount. i tink i will go take alook nxt time.
xaleysan 2 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 Hoe kee cannot bargain one. they say fix price. unlike poh joo like what groovygenie say poh joo can discount. i tink i will go take alook nxt time. I went to Hoe Kee at Macpherson (located at The Blue Building) to recce before. The SE told me prices "can be discussed". The SE was friendly and patient with explanations for the hobs and hoods too, not bad, though I did not buy from there in the end. In contrast, at the IMM outlet, a staff told me prices are fixed
hihihi 0 Report post Posted June 6, 2008 general impression is that Hoe Kee is more stingy, will only give u discount if u buy many expensive items (and if u ASK). If u buy like 2 items, very difficult. That day I bought 2 taps costing $260, the boss quickly write the reciept like rushing to avoid giving me discount. I managed to squeeze him for 2 brass connector FOC with RRP $6/each coz the sales say need this thing to merge hot+cold. end up contractor installed, no use for that. Grrrr..
