weixiaobao 0 Report post Posted June 9, 2008 I do not advise any feature wall for ur Master bedroom cos the design may ran out of fashion in few year times and more maintenance. Keep it simple with a Bedhead and two side table with a romatic table lamps can create a good sleeping enviroment. I like the above bedframe. Yup final decision is to do without a feature wall. Just 2 side tables at false ceiling with cove light on top. Maybe put wall paper or just do some wall painting.

weixiaobao 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2008 How about using Murals or wall decals? better yet, just put painting also can Can consider.. was thinking of doing something like this to my wall.. Got my set of 3D drawing.. Heres my study area.. and the display feature behind study area. Is this study feature wall too plain? More pics! My sleeping area... And wardrobe.. supposed to be tinted glass in the center instead of black laminate. Got my ID to change liao... Last one.. kitchen! Decided to change the cabinet below to black with silver handles. My parents going to nag at me for months for getting all black and white and grey... Wish I can overlay the kitchen and the toilets.. but alas,, budget constraint. See others nice nice kitchen and toilet.. DROOL man! Kitchen a bit small also. Now headache, dunno where to put clothes hanger... Got my lighting points layout too... So many points - 28! Going to cost me at least 2k... Just a quick question. Will cove light be hard to maintain? think inside will trap lots of dust right? Some more later cockroach or lizard make it their home, then Im dead... My ID say cove light very bright.. bright enuff for study area?
BunBun 5 Report post Posted June 10, 2008 Can paint in those colours better and even better add a touch with frosted or clear glass wall lamps or keep things very minimalistc so that the feature wall will stand out even more with the rest of the walls in white. Just an idea. Can consider.. was thinking of doing something like this to my wall..

But if you're particular about FS, I also not sure if mirror is a good idea to place at feature wall? 'cos im not sure if good or bad in terms of fs. Yup yup.. sounds like a good idea. weixiaobao 0 Report post Posted June 10, 2008 Then you can look for maybe frosted/clear glass wall lamps for the sides of the wall ? Hmm would it be too extra? Im doing cove light on top and halogen at the top of the bed..
BunBun 5 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 (edited) Well, if you do not want to use too many lights but prefer a single light on for some light reading in bed before turning in or when you need to go toilet in the middle of the night but lazy to turn on the room lights, it should serve that purpose. Thats what bedside table & wall lamps are used for. Halogen yellow lights burn out quite fast. I have like 6 halogen yellow light bulbs for my living room light. 3 of the halogen light bulbs went out after less than 5 months already. Left is remaining 3 halogen lights. Still, its really a matter of preference for you. Hmm would it be too extra? Im doing cove light on top and halogen at the top of the bed.. Din know that halogen light lifespan is so short. Will downlight be better?

Cantona7 0 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 and the display feature behind study area. Is this study feature wall too plain? Actually I would suggest take out the feature wall and replace it with more glass shelve cos really take out space and serve no purpose. Having a display cabinet is also a good ideas cos in long run u will need more storage when u have additional members. Jus my ONE cents advise. I like ur house color theme "Ork Ork" kind. I have cove light in my living room, wheather have cockroach or lizard I really dont know so far I didnt hear any scream from my wifey I guess their home are safe. Cove light is veri bright and waste electricity cos need to turn on few tube together. If u wan to see the effect can come over to my hse.
BunBun 5 Report post Posted June 11, 2008 IMHO, the T5 light used for cove is already bright and yes cove lights are quite bright so ur ID is correct. My family home uses both cove and downlights but to replace bulbs for downlights is kinda troublesome also. There would be times when one bulb will go off and will have to be changed only to find another goes off again in a few months later. So you see already quite ma fan. Downlights is more softer and not too bright but if you're using alot of downlights, its as good as wasting electricity & more money burnt on buying replacement ight bulbs that is. Thats why my place don't have cove or downlights. Just the normal light fixtures. PS: ckoonyin, T5 & T8 are fluorescent bulbs that are long and thin which is common in offices that sort. T5 is brighter than T8 i think? I see.. looking at my ceiling plan, think Im using quite a bit of T5 light for cove light and either halogen or downlight..
