Issue With Electrical Wiring

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have several of those energy savings bulbs at home, at places like the bathroom/balcony etc. Recently noticed even when switched off, they tend to flicker with a tinge of green light once every 1-2 mins. The green light is not strong enough to light up the area, but still very noticeable with all other lights off, in darkness.

Wonder if anyone has similar problem. To notice it, best way is to switch off all lights, and observe a bulb for 2 minutes..

Any electrical engineers here ? Appreciate advice from you too, even if you dont have this issue with your wiring at home.. :) Is there any danger of short-circuiting or something ? Seems to me like the current is leaking to the end-points even with the switch off... how lah ??

Just did a further test last night. From circuit breaker, switched off the circuit where this bulb was flickering on by itself. And it stopped. Sounds like leakage from the light switch ?

Problem is I'm having all the bulbs with this problem. Could all the switches be loosely in contact even when off ? Or the bulb holders (all same type) are all faulty ?
