Cornice Joint Cracks

Recommended Posts

My reno was completed quite a few months ago, I just noticed recently that there's a crack at the joint of my ceiling works where 2 pieces of cornices meet at a right angle. The crack seems to be getting larger, will the whole piece fall off eventually if I just leave it? Or is that something I can do to patch it up myself?

eh, why need to patch yourself when u can complain to the contractor/ID to fix it for you?

for those joint lines, they have to use white silicon seal to patch first before painting. otherwise sure will crack until normal expansion.

I've been looking for this thread! I thought I posted it in another forum.

Couldn't find it, didn't realise I post it under Ceiling Works instead of General Reno ..

Ok, there are a few outstanding issues from my renovation still, holes here and there waiting to be patched up and other unsatisfactories. Called my ID the other time to tell her about all these a few weeks ago, she said will send someone to check it out, will arrange with me again. I've not heard from her ever since ......

There's still 5% outstanding payment from my side as well, I think they would rather forgo that than to complete the job? So I have to DIY?

I suggest you call her again and again and again until she really send someone down to your house.

If have not, call and call and call.

Probably most of the owners are facing this kind of experiences....poor after sales services.
