twinstar633 0 Report post Posted May 27, 2008 Would love to hear creative solution. The TV provision in my bedroom is at the bay window area. However, it will be too low to watch TV from the bed. Thinking of putting a console, but wouldn't it be awkward to put a console on top of bay window? Your ideas - and pictures!!! - are welcome!

twinstar633 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 thanks :-). other more elegant solutions? TV height should ideally be a couple of foot above bed mattress level. this bay window is a foot or so below bed mattress. apparently many new condos now put the provision for tv connection at the bay window area for bedroom. twinstar633 0 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 pix would help us visualise the area Sure, how do I post a picture? I see the "insert image" icon, but it asks me to provide a URL. I think am not allowed to post pic. The bay area window is very low. It's like there is a horizontal post lying on the bottom of the floor.
applefreak 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 you got to upload the pix to a photo sharing site like photobucket or imageshack then copy the url for the pix and paste it there hmm that's sounds very very low and i believe you've got quite a high bed what are the developers thinking when they plonk the point there
patsy_sg 1 Report post Posted May 28, 2008 Putting the TV by the bay window would also make it very difficult to watch leh... there will be glare from the windows. Would it be an option to replace the point?
twinstar633 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 My Webpage Here is a sample of what the TV provision at the bay window looks like. Not the exact bedroom, actually my bedroom is worse - as the bay window extends from one side to the next side. I am not too concerned about the glare as I can always draw the curtain. There is no other option but this bay window area. 1 side - closet with no provision for TV 1 side - glassy partition for bathroom. 1 side - bed frame Opposite side - the bay window. However, I can't think of an elegant solution. I can of course put a TV console but isn't the depth too narrow? Also, it looks awkward. Many new condo developments put the TV provision in this exact same spot. I'm sure others may have some ideas on how to put a nice solution. SmartFool 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 Nice view u got there how about considering getting the carpenter to construct a platform (raised so that it will be in line with the window sill) then it can be used as a table to put ur tv etc
latitude 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) looks quite high floor! what development is this? the bay window and the wardrobe is next to each other?? I suggest that u wall mount the LCD TV on the wall on the left and built settee on the bay window, if the layout allows. maybe u can post yr floorplan for better visual. twinstar633 0 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 I'm just renting so will not be able to do carpentry type of work. Would putting an TV console be awkward? Thanks!
applefreak 1 Report post Posted May 30, 2008 (edited) actually you can consider a high console that covers part of the bay window as long as the tv point is behind the console can liao Edited May 30, 2008 by applefreak
