Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

how come gas dryer thread becomes gas heater.... :)

Anyway, installed gas dryer two months ago but only moved in and used it last night...

But gas dryer blow out cold air. Time counter indicates 11min.

Try out some time, but no changes.

Try to change the gas lever, but still cold air....

Btw,

1) for say 3kg of clothes, how long it takes to dry?

(using only general drying mode)

2) need time to wait before operation?

Apologise for the initial jitters.

Read the manual and realise:

When time counter shows "11", it means gas not turn on.

Cuz oriiginally i checked the gas lever of the dryer and following the direction of gas lever outside flat's (for Citygas pipe into home).

The indicator of direction for the lever (dryer) is facing the wall, hence

i do not have a visual confirmation.

Turned out they are turned on in opposite direction.

Looks like there is no standard direction of gas lever.

Double check the direction.

eg.

Vertical to floor level = Gas on

Horizontal to floor level = Gas off

Waiting time is little. 1-2 min, max.

hi jpcc, can check with you about the cold air

you mean the gas is not on but the dryer still blow out cold air?

that means got to plug it into electrical socket right?

yes, dryer needs electricity to take care of the electronics/ operating mechanism.

The gas is used for heating.

If gas lever is not open (i.e. allow gas to flow to dryer), the dryer will

blow cold air for quite some time (say five - ten minutes) while displaying

the "11" in the time counter.

The user manual stated that "11" indicates gas is not turned on in the dryer.

Hi millienium_bear,

May I check with you, how much time to dry the cloth is it automatic? It stated that it require only 1 hr to dry 6kg cloth as compare to 2hr if using the electrical dryer, is it true?

1hr is the max drying... but not all time... depending on the weight of clothes, will tell u the time to dry the clothes when u start the operation... if little clothes, will take around 20min.. if heavy clothes like jeans, around 30-40min..

if not dry completely, juz set 10 min more.. according to my aunt who is using the electrical dryer, will take 1.5 - 2 hrs to complete drying.

that's y i consider citygas dryer instead..

Yes, this is one of the factors that I'm considering. Thank you!
