Incense Urn Hung Outside House Missing

my family is hokkien & we ve this 'Tian Gong Incense Urn' that we hung outside our home. unfortunately over the wkend we found that this urn tat was hanging fm the ceiling was missing! we suspect tat the urn was stolen since the metal can b sold for good amt of money.

we had bought a replacement but im worried tat it will be stolen again. my hb said reporting to police doesnt helps at all.

can i write to town council?

just forget it. nobody bothers about a urn, police or town council or even your mp.

People usually steal the brass incense urns and sell for money.

Unless you get something of a cheaper material to replace it, else the thief will strike again. (Like porcelain or something?)

And your HB is right, reporting to the police/tc is useless in this case, I mean what can they do? Station someone at the opposite block and monitor? You might be better off with a CCTV, when the thief strikes, rush out of the house, chase after him with a baseball bat. :P

it's usually the garang guni.....selling just 1 urn cant make much money but selling 1 gani sack full of brass urns is a few hundreds.

Not only karang guni, beware of those general cleaner too.

I bought new urn to replace the missing urn but this time, I replace the brass chain to stainless steel rod and fastened it to the ceiling using drop in anchor.

Occasionly, I can see my urn turn to different position. It's not that easy to pull out the wall plug.

install those fake camera costing abt S$15 nia. Looks exactly like the real thing.

im getting frustrated! ystd i noticed tat some1 had pour black liquid into my hb's shoes outside my main door! i tink is black sauce. lucky my hb dun wear e shoes, imagine if he put his feet into the shoes & his feet kena the liquid! im so fedup! 1st is urn missing , now is this! ANGRY!

looks like u've got an enemy... then it's better to install a real cam outside le. Dunno what's next... paint on the doors/gate?

i thinking reporting is not useful, as they are not interested in that.

Maybe you can get a camera to monitor the urn

why dun do some DIY? Uses big milo tin as urn? Drill some holes. Nt bad wa.. :dancingqueen:

err... i think should not joke abt religious thing...
