herbman76 0 Report post Posted October 4, 2008 I thought of that, but if burglar can get through the first lock, lets say I lost my key, then I would have lost my whole bunch of keys. So different locks doesn't make a difference. The metal gate itself is a different lock, so I still end up with 2 keys okie that sound logic .. think you explain before hee hee

frederick_chia 1 Report post Posted October 5, 2008 Hi, did anyone do their kitchen cabinets without handles? What's the downside of both with handles & without handles?
Iman 0 Report post Posted October 5, 2008 (edited) Hi, did anyone do their kitchen cabinets without handles? What's the downside of both with handles & without handles? Unless you are considering to have it child-proof. Anyway my boy got ard that too by monitoring us adults, hence he figured out a way to open the cabinets eventually. Btw registered for season parking at our estate, was informed we had to choose between either 219 or 220 carpark, can't have best of both Edited October 5, 2008 by Iman

I'm looking for a secure lock which the key can be pull out even when it's open. Hi, There are basically 2 types of locks for the HDB, the old one which is 2 door, so the lock is one single piece. For the newer types which we got, then it is 3 door, so the lock is 2 pieces. There is a joint line where the two pieces comes together, but it is **** almost impossible to saw/drill through.e If you are looking for a single key system, then duro is 'expensive'....the lock itself if sell alone is $108!. Or would you like to get the Chairo 118 which I am selling off here, this one only $78 I bought from the hardware stall at Fengshan market. Both the duro and they Chairo key is BOTH way (meaning keys can be inserted from inside or outside the gate) and can be removed when it is open (so it is way way convenient). If you are getting one, can get the Chairo off me? It's almost brand new, I got it last weekend then found it so convenient that I got the duro this weekend B-)...sell you cheap cheap at a great lost ($58 only)... ha ha Hi Ideasmith, Do they sell duro lock only for iron gate? If you are talking about the piece I bought, yes, I think it's $108.... If you are talking about replacing the existing one that HDB has, duro does sell a replacement, but it is a thumbler lock same same as the wooden door we have.....I have already emailed duro to see if they have the HDB standard. hihihi 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Starhub Maxonline I almost laugh my teeth off today trying to activate (shift) my Starhub internet line to the new place. Was informed that my whole block 220A (first to get key) has no signal. Didn't Starhub came down before to check the signal strength? I bomb the guy on the line, he can't answer. Then he gave me 3 choices: 1) suspend the line for max up to 2mths. Upon re-activation, they will charge me some $15.xx 2) ask some starhub guy come down to activate my unit only, they will charge me some $32.xx 3) Wait for HDB to activate the whole block. Means that wait for the cow to come home. I am thinking of the 4th choice: Cut the blardy line. What a way to squeeze money out of consumers!!

Also, if with handles, the sides of the handles seems quite sharp and will it be a safety issue?
happyhouseowner 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Hi, did anyone do their kitchen cabinets without handles? What's the downside of both with handles & without handles? I did mine without handles. My ID had it made in such a way that the bottom of the cabinets are with 45degrees 'slope'. Pros: look nicer without handles. Cons: more expensive to make it with the 45degrees slope. DSA 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Is the Starhub CSO telling you the truth or he doesn't know better himself? Starhub says 220A has CableTV Signal & MaxOnline / Digital Voice Signal However, it is also stated that a positive search result does not indicate eligibility for service. Sheesh, then WTF is the site for? It means Starhub is refusing to turn the signal to the individual units. The issue is why Starhub is not turning on signal for the entire block? Because HDB isn't talking to Starhub. So currently, all TVs in Linear Green are leeching the signal from the aerial antenna. Can write in to IDA or MDA to compel Starhub to turn on the signal. I just wrote in to HDB. This is simply milking consumer for money. Signal is there, why do I need to pay SH to turn ON signal to my unit only? Anyone has our area's MP's email addy? For older estates they'll post it in the notice board. Update: Called HDB at 1800-2255432 and the CSO tell me she will ask the contractor to check and turn ON the signal. I left my contacts and requested them to call me back when it's done. keep fingers crossed. Edited October 6, 2008 by hihihi
