snowman 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Hi, my very first post. Am at 221A, and renovations have been delayed and making me so stressed out. 1) Pending screeding from HDB - any idea how long would that take? 2) Pending HDB's approval to hack some bits of the wall - PE submission all done. I just completed my cement screed (aka smooth floor rendering). Bring your application letter provided by HDB and go to the branch office at Blk 201A level 2. HDB say the process will take 3-4 weeks. Mine finished in 3 weeks. Im also waiting for the HDB approval after PE submission. After this my reno works will start.

applegirl 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Relax... more bonus for you.. heee.. we overtake jurong west thread liaoz..can we OT jalanmebina and TPY thread? Yes. Quite lehz.s If anyone planing to have matt homogenous tile for floor, get ur contractor to check whether is all the tile having the same thickness. As I don't like shining surface , I choose matt surface homogenous tile and is lucky my contractor checked and found that the floor won't be level when put together. He ask the supplier and they said the shipment is like that for matt surface. And even lay it apart like ceramic tile, the edges is not smooth. So I have to reselect and get ceramic tile instead. But to and fo, I lost one week. But still lucky hav'nt lay yet.
Ideasmiths 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 I am thinking of the 4th choice: Cut the blardy line. What a way to squeeze money out of consumers!! If you got the contract with the freebies then you may be out of luck cutting it. If not, then you are in luck. I got my Starhub Mobile on Broadband and as you know, our signals at LG is so bad....I emailed them and starhub tech support tried twice to 'help me', but the ultimate pack I got 7.2Mbps down, 1.9 Mbps up was operating at 2.6 Mbps down and 100k up. I got so fed up that I went to Starhub Support Center at Singapura Plaza to cancel the contract, the support staff gave the usual $500 penalty fee for early termination etc...I cite the technical issues and blah blah blah, they still insist on charging me penalty. Asked for the manager and nicely explained to him that I will talk to CASE and MDA for their false advertisement... 2 days later, manager called me say they will cancel the line without the penalty. For your case, you can cancel it or you can transfer it to someone else. Since Maxonline is easier to transfer, they would probably obliged.
frederick_chia 1 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 I did mine without handles. My ID had it made in such a way that the bottom of the cabinets are with 45degrees 'slope'. Pros: look nicer without handles. Cons: more expensive to make it with the 45degrees slope. For my case, it will be the same price with or without handles (but with the 45 degrees slope). Just need to listen to more opinions to make the correct decision.
isc90152 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 Hi a question to neighbours installing System 4 (Mitsubishi Electric or Toshiba). Our window at the air con ledge is around 700mm in height. Toshiba's condenser (RAS-4M26SACV) is Dimension : 795(H) x 900(W) x 320(H) mm ME's condenser MXY-4A28VA is Dimension : 840 (W) x 330(D) x 710 (H) To me it seems barely possible to push out ME's condenser thru the window (tilting maybe can) but impossible to get toshiba's out without tearing down the window frame & put it back. Anyone tried Toshiba 4 split? Are there extra charges to do this?

I do not think they will tear down the window frame, they will probably go from your kitchen and put a platform and push to air con ledge.

SoS 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 I just wrote in to HDB. This is simply milking consumer for money. Signal is there, why do I need to pay SH to turn ON signal to my unit only? Anyone has our area's MP's email addy? For older estates they'll post it in the notice board. Update: Called HDB at 1800-2255432 and the CSO tell me she will ask the contractor to check and turn ON the signal. I left my contacts and requested them to call me back when it's done. keep fingers crossed. Do we need to call them to on our television signal? thought it should be automatically activated? Iman 0 Report post Posted October 6, 2008 (edited) Is the Starhub CSO telling you the truth or he doesn't know better himself? Starhub says 220A has CableTV Signal & MaxOnline / Digital Voice Signal However, it is also stated that a positive search result does not indicate eligibility for service. Sheesh, then WTF is the site for? It means Starhub is refusing to turn the signal to the individual units. The issue is why Starhub is not turning on signal for the entire block? Because HDB isn't talking to Starhub. So currently, all TVs in Linear Green are leeching the signal from the aerial antenna. Can write in to IDA or MDA to compel Starhub to turn on the signal. Not particularly sure on maxonline, but I have successfully transferred my cabletv to the new house without any charges (catch is u must not modify/temper with the starhub pts) As in my previous posting, they rejected a new application citing the same reason (signal not enabled blah blah), but informed me if I were to do a transfer of existing cabletv to new address it can be done. Faxed over the taking over of keys from HDB to Starhub and appointment done within days. The technician will come n check every room for the starhub pts and paste a sticker there to acknowledge that these pts have been enabled. ... I got my Starhub Mobile on Broadband and as you know, our signals at LG is so bad....I emailed them and starhub tech support tried twice to 'help me', but the ultimate pack I got 7.2Mbps down, 1.9 Mbps up was operating at 2.6 Mbps down and 100k up. ... Using starhub mobile on BB here too. Yup agreed the connection's rather bad, but if i position myself near the window, then I'm on the fast speed. What I did was to navigate to tools--> option --> network, under the network type drop down selection, set to WCDMA only. Hence, upon connection, signal will not drop to lower speed. (Indicator will maintain light blue). The only trade off is, its either fast speed connection or no connection at all since I only set to WCDMA only. End up got to position myself near the window all the time. Edited October 6, 2008 by Iman
