hehehe,,, anyone here having "Open House" again???? :yamseng:

No durian....no open house 8|

My next project is thinking of hooking up my instant water heater to the 'red' line in one of the guest toilet so that when I turn the heater on, I get hot water from the basic tap or the 'down' tap. Seem easy enough, at the top there is this inlet where I guess is also the inlet for storage heater.

Don't know if it will work...

hmmm.. what happened to the HDB supplied shower head? :)

err .. nope not really :) just wondering how was the tap was altered :) nvm will wait for the full picture :)

the HDB supplied tap has 2 outlets: one for tap, the other connects to the shower head.

If you buy a instant heater, then the connection to shower head will be disconnected, and connect to the heater, i.e Tap->Heater. Heater will supply another flexible pipe for you to connect from Heater->Shower Head

Hi, my very first post.

Am at 221A, and renovations have been delayed and making me so stressed out.

1) Pending screeding from HDB - any idea how long would that take?

2) Pending HDB's approval to hack some bits of the wall - PE submission all done.

Hiya, we are from the same block. For Screeding, you can call the haulage guy Mr Lim. He will be able to facilitate you or refer you to the other guy (think hes call Jonanthan or something).

Best is to use gas heater, save electricity and water temperature is good. I'm very happy with my gas water heater. Cheers

Can i check if any of u have move into your unit to stay?

how's the dust and noise level like???

I moved in 2 weekends ago, now into my 3rd Friday here. Day time I am mostly at home during these period, dust is horrible (I am on 5th floor 220B). you got to mop and wipe dust off almost every day. Your feet feels the dust, the new furniture can see one thin layer of dust. I got curtains on, windows fully closed and they still gets in (where air goes, dust goes). 3rd week, dust better because they have completed more or less the garden below me.

Noise wise getting less, but high pitch drilling due to renovation is there. It will get worst when Big orange and his gangs at those blocks facing the MRT lines start their renovation, dust will flow downwards towards us. Luckily the wind is pushing towards their side....but those who start in those blocks, low level would feel some additional dust.

There are thieves around, mostly the town council workers. Got my bicycle new tail light stolen....sigh...

Sigh...

My this weekend project was to change all my locks to a single key system. For this, I used http://www.duro.com.sg/duropp.html

Locks003.jpg

Locks004.jpg

Locks005.jpg

The main gate lock was successful

The letter box lock was successful

The bloody main wooden door is a thimble but the duro system provided a deadbolt....arrrghhhh. :furious:

Now must find out how to change my thimble and main metal gate lock....

Duro system was $228 from one of the selffix DIY shop at Parkway Parade....there was one DIY shop below same block sellinga at $259...

Maybe let it remain for this portion? it may be a blessing in disguise? main gate lock and door key differs else like defeat the purpose of having 2 lock.

just my 5 cent worths :)

I thought of that, but if burglar can get through the first lock, lets say I lost my key, then I would have lost my whole bunch of keys. So different locks doesn't make a difference.

The metal gate itself is a different lock, so I still end up with 2 keys
