Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

Googled for non-reflective window films and found this company, Sun-X. I think it will be rather high priced. HDB allows window films as long as they are non-reflective. Not possible to have films on window that provide privacy & are non-reflective, right? The other is Window Cool - comes highly recommended by donut88.

I've seen a member's window with reflective film, looking from outside, it's totally not obvious coz our window glass is already come with little tint which helps to hide the reflection. Seriously speaking, the more effective solar film are those which are highly reflective. But u won't choose the most reflective one coz it'll also reduce the amt of light into the house. A compromise has to be reached somehow.

I'm meanwhile trying to get 3 more quotes from:

- Cool N Lite Solar Film East Branch

- ShieldShade Marketing

- Window Cool

*** Good news ***

It is possible to convert the WC single flush to dual flush system. Just need to change the internal organ. Rigel do sell their own Rigel-brand internal organ, but doesn't do install, material cost alone will be $80 (before GST).

Got a quote from a plumber:

  • Supply+install= $80/WC (internal organ is other brand)

anyone interested? :notti:

purpose of this is to convert to dual flush to reduce water usage, chances are that the flush will be even weaker. U will most likely need to install a spray.

Ho kee sell one french made dual flush organs for $120 plus installation.

Acutally the flush 'power' depends on the quantity of water. So even if we change to dual flush, the power would be same or less. The problem is that our system is water push the stuff down the pipe.

There is this brand called the caroma (or something) from Australia, I think around $300 to $500. same quanity of water but the design creates a sort of 'whirlpool' effect that water goes first, then 'suck' the stuff and drag down the pipe. :good:

Yesterday I discovered that BOTH of my wc leak water. This is after 1.5 months since I done my defects check, it seem that the HDB installed the pumps incorrectly and when I turned on the water, it filled the tanks, use a few times and started leaking.....lucky HDB still agrees to service it because it is covered under the 'inherent' defects during usuage for 1 year clause.

So check your wc...oh yeah, one of the showerhead leaked too, due to dry seal....that one easy to change.
