Hacking Of Beam

Can anyone informed me what are the procedures to hack this structure on top of the balcony door? Im not sure whether it is a beam. Heard that i may need to engage the services of a PE. Wonder how much that would cost?

Big problem man. I want to level up the balcony so that it can form part of the living room. N then i want to put ceiling fan there. But it's hard with this beam there.

Don't think you can hack any beam. Unless you want the building to collapse. That is how I feel.

But that wall on top of the balcony may not be a beam. Better check with HDB can or not.

if can be hacked, def need the stamp/chop of a PE - at least $500.00

Your contractors should know what to do. They will engage a PE to submit their plans to HDB for approval.

That's why they charge $500. Don't forget abt the hacking fees you need to pay your contractor only. PE only handles the paper part only.
