Reiki 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2008 Reiki: Does Legrand Mallia have the base container (not the switch cover) for houses without concealed wiring? ie. of where this switches are matched onto. I just wanted to find out more before I could find time to go Choo Chiang later. Sorry for the late reply, Starscream. I am not sure about it. Best if you are to check with the shop or your electrician/designer.
Reiki 0 Report post Posted July 12, 2008 I was very pleased with the works done by our general contractors. Their job is basically to remove all wardrobe/cabinets, sanitaryware and plumbing pipes, electrical wires and hacking. When I went down to inspect the house last wednesday - which was the second 'hacking day', most of the jobs were almost completed. Indeed, it was a super fast job and the place was, surprisingly, orderly. There were no debris left in the house and all the sands/cements were neatly stacked for the commencement of the next tasks. Some Pictures: 01. Entrance to Dining and Living Areas (View taken from Kitchen) - We need to ge the contractor to remove all the archs and to level the top entrances (Arrow) 02. Entrance to MBR (View taken from Living/Dining Area) The contractor is to create a new door for Guest Room (Arrow) and to remove the ceiling beam arch. The store room has been removed and to make way for the WiW and Study area. 03. Entrance to MBR Toilet The contractor is to remove the whole wall (Arrow) to make the toilet an open concept. 04. Entrance to Study Area (View taken from MBR) 05. The Stiffener Wall This is the only wall that HDB gives restriction to our hacking application. It would be very silly of us to hack this stiffener wall (Arrow) - which is really small, and pay almost a thousand dollars just to engage a PE to oversee the work. More Pictures: 06. Guest Toilet The contractor is to create a new entrance [near to window] to the Guest Toilet. 07. Kitchen Entrance to Living Area

Reiki 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) Our renovation is progressing rather slow. Now, into the 6th weeks, we are only about 50% done. There are still tons of works to do. Renovations done so far: 01. Installation of false ceiling all throughout the house. 02. Wall smoothened and plastered. The Living Area: A nice boxed-up of aircon trunks under the beam and the new bedroom door frame: 03. Laying of parquet teakwood in all the bedrooms including at the house main entrance. We omitted skirtings all throughout the house. The parquet is being cured now. Sanding down and matte works will only be carried out on 1st September. The Main Entrance: Master Bedroom and Study Area: More stories and pictures at Reiki Sanctuary Edited August 28, 2008 by Reiki

Reiki 0 Report post Posted August 28, 2008 (edited) The Toilets The two toilets - Master and Guest, are still not completed. Only the tiles are laid. The shower glass, sanitaryware and shower sets will only installed much later. Few things that we are happy here: 1. Rather than the normal drop, we make sure that we have a gentle ram instead. Ram at Guest Toilet Ram at Master Toilet 2. The custom made soap racks. Rack at Guest Toilet Rack at Master Toilet 3. The Master Toilet The Feature Wall needs to be oil-glazed to make it shine and 'more' black. The ugly pipes will be boxed up. We will erect a full length recycled wardrobe next to the pipes and just after the ceiling beam. PS: Sorry guys .. some of the pics are just too big even though it has been resized. Reiki 0 Report post Posted August 30, 2008 beautiful dining table and chairs then nw ur reno extend till when? end of sept? seems like its only like 50% completed Yes, we feel that it is only 50% completed to date. We are now given the date, 18th September. Don't think we will move in immediately. Would prefer to 'air' the house, of all the chemical smells, after that so that our dog won't suffer. Likely to move in October now. Our concern is the delivery of most items that we had ordered. Not sure they can delay further - already, we had postponed the dates. Hehe, the delivery of the dining set is only in November. We are lucky that the company will loan us a set when we move in.
