Harvey Norman Full-hd Tv Sale @ Sin Expo

Recommended Posts

For those looking to buy a TV set, go check out the HN sale @ Sin Expo. Very good deals. They are throwing in Robinsons vouchers as well as free gifts (i.e. home theatre system).

We bought a 40" Samsung LCD tv for $2599 with $500 Robinsons voucher and home theatre set.

We bought the Series 5.

Their LCD price is not as cheap as the Samsung HD LCD fair at Vivocity by Courts leh.

I think it depends on the model because the older Samsung HD LCD models are going at very low prices too.

Hi Reno Talk Community member,

I need help from the power of community here. If anybody here has the answer to my question below, please post your reply or email me at jamestai@singnet.com.sg.

Anybody here bought Phillips 37" FULL HD LCD TV from the Harvey Norman "FULL HD" 08 at Singapore Expo Road show yesterday night before they end at 10pm ? If yes how much did you pay ?

Did anybody remember that the Young Lady DJ at the Phillip booth was shouting at around 8:30pm that their 37 Inches FULL HD LCD TV is going at $899 ? If yes, did you check what is the model number they write on your invoice ? Are you sure it is the model of FULL HD and not HD Ready ? On my Order, the model the sale wrtie is PHillip 37TA2800 which is acutally "HD Ready" Model.

Or did anybody buy 37 Inches Phillip LCD TV from the show yesterday which the sale guy told you is FULL HD but later you discover that it is actually HD Ready ?

Did anybody buy any brand of 37 Inches FULL HD LCD TV at the show yesterday below the price of SGD$1000 ?

Please I need your help to provide me any information to the above question as I have a serious dispute with Harvey Norman of the Phillip booth yesterday at the show. Any answer that you can provide to the question above is greatly appreciated. If you do have any of the above information please email me at jamestai@singnet.com.sg.

Thank you very much.

James

Oh dear. Sorry to read about your predicament. When you signed on the receipt, did you check for the correct model number? I'm just guessing that if it's in black-and-white (as in, you already signed for the "wrong" model), it's probably going to be difficult to prove that what you wanted to buy was the FULL HD model. Unless there were witnesses who were present at that time.

I hope it gets sorted out soon. All the best!

Btw, when I told the HN salesguy at the Sin Expo Fair that we checked out the tv sets at Mustafa as well and they were cheaper, he told me that many of them are not first-hand! According to him, they are tv sets that have been sent back to the supplier for repairs. The original owners are then given a brand new set and the supplier will then "clean up" the "old" set and pass it to Mustafa to sell?!!? That was his explanation as to why they can sell so cheap.

I honestly find it a bit hard to believe though. Anyone heard such stories?

Sale people will say whatever to make customer happy to buy from them, do u think he/she will honestly tell you to get it from elsewhere as long it is cheap and ended up earn less commission.

Yes, i just bought my sony LCD tv from mustafa and they will deliever the set to me tmr, beside that they also give me the warrantly card and guide me the procedure to register my warrantly online with offical sony.Warrantly given is 3 years

I know someone who work for panasonic and he also mentioned that mustafa is one of the biggest dealer for LCD tv as they carried most of the stock and brands,he also recommanded to get LCD tv set in mustafa if u want it cheaper, unless u r taking abt IT or PC show, maybe the price will be cheaper than mustafa.

First things first, even if the lady was shouting free XXXXX with purchase now doesnt make any "legal" sense unless you have it in black and white.

So in short to answer your question, did you check the invoice carefully and make sure that it is the FULL HD model written and subsequently sold? If this is correct and they deliver another model, you will win 100%. If you have just blindly listen to some bimbo rants who might not even know the difference between FULL HD and HD ready, and sign on the invoice, then all I can say is sorry. There will be very low chance you will win the case, unless a dozen other people with the same issues are surfacing this.

This sales person statement is defamatory. If any Mustafa's management get a whiff of this, HN better has evidence that indeed Mustafa is selling old sets.

Cheers

Yes, I see your point. I find it very hard to believe when he told us that Mustafa sell "re-packaged' sets as well. The more logical reasoning is the fact that they sell A LOT which of course, allows them to sell it cheaper. Best thing is, Mustafa gives out vouchers which you can then use to purchase the rest of your household appliances.

With regards to the warranty card, the HN salesguy also added that yes, Mustafa also give warranty but I can't quite remember the reasoning he gave.

Simply put, I don't think it's right to spread such rumours (if they're not real and have no evidence) because it's just unethical lah. I'm also left wondering how many customers he has told this "story" to.
