i would say its dangerous. really depends on your usage. but i have done many installation,seldom heard for explosion case, unless those hob that are 5yrs old and above.

glass hobs don't usually explodes. like everything, it suffers from wear and tear.

i read of people using glass hobs for years and nothing has happened to their hobs as long as you know how to use them and not dropped anything sharp or heavy onto them.

i bought a glass hob recently from turbo and the sales staff assured me that glass hobs don't usually explode and because i only do light cooking, i can safely go ahead and get my glass hob.
