Recommended Posts

All Brothers and Sister

I am a newpie for renovation and need to seek you expert out there for advise. I am currently doing the Kitchen renovation and would like to put a Glass backing on the wall. But before that I also would like to installed properly a 2 fts Stainless Steel rod to hand some Kitchen Hang on wall products.

May I know have any of you guys happen to have this type of setup in the Kitchen? And if you have hope you can share some of the experience and points to take note after installing the Stainless Steel rod and the Glass backing for the kitchen. Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,

we're doing the same thing to our kitchen...... :notti:

The bad news is my backing is not up yet

But we'd already bought the rod and our ID already made measurement to put the hole on the glass.

Please share your experience when your backing is up

:yamseng:

1) Stainless steel pipe, IKEA has alot of those ideas, u can get from there. But the drilling can u DIY?

2) Glass backing. alot of contractor says got heat source, so must be tempered glass cannot normal glass, cost is like $300?? Stainless steel dunno what price but I reckon will be harder to clean. End up I give up the idea.

Hihihi

I believe tempered glass is for pre-caution for accidental purposes. As stainless steel will be depending on the grades of Steel you want. I believe the higher grade will be more expensive. Even with higher grade stainless steel as long as you used your kitchen for cooking meal everyday. Or once a week, it will still get dirty and find yourself having problem to clean the kitchen.

The only way to keep the kitchen clean and nice is you do not cook. Then you do not have any problem regardless of heat or cleaning issue. This is my own opinon. Cheer!!!
