It cost around 33-35k.The reno i done is :- hack and replace all floor and wall title, - paint all wall and ceiling, - replace all window and grill, - replace all toilet bowl and basin, - new full kitchen cabinet ( exclude cook stove) - rewiring all elec cable and light.Just curios, if anyone know, how much do you think the contractor can earn from 1 project like in my case 33k ?30% of the project amount ?If i can take the simple sample, for do extension TV point, by general market price is $90. countrylover 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I think it's about 16% to 18% My HB used to be in the reno biz and he said that nowadays contractors don't earn as much as before due to competition, increase in material costs etc. I would think it's probably only 10% to 15% per project. Previously he could easily earn at least $10k from a $30k reno project. I'm renovating my flat now. As I compare the quotes from contractors and those from our direct sources, there are cost savings of course, but not really very significant. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Starscream 0 Report post Posted May 29, 2008 I think the cost of materials have indeed gone up but maybe not as exaggerated as the inflated quotes might tell you. However, workmanship & quality of material used should be more important factors to consider. Sometimes we might just pick an ID/Contractor because we can get along well.
