darrenelle 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Chop chop from me too. Can share some tips on choosing tiles? It's my turn this Sat... Dunno what to expect lehz. !!Some tips would be to discuss with your partner the type, texture and color of tiles desired for the different area before that, also the concept of your house. It should make it alot easier. You may feel restricted with the selection by the limiting price psf. However, Steven is quite flexible and he would let you know if top up is necessary. Haha, some little experience. As we already know that we wanted white homogeneous tiles for living/ dining, so it was easy. We shortlisted 3. At the end, we choose one that exceed the $3.00psf that comes with the quote. Ideal House should be able to absorb up to $3.20psf.Steven told us toilet tiles are the most difficult to choose. Indeed, we spent almost an hour just to decide for the MBR toilet. So it would be good that you have already got something in mind. Steven will provide ideas and suggestion, it depends on whether you like them. Most of the time, we will first pick and ask him nice or not. When we cannot decide, we throw the ball to him. haha... if the tiles price we chose is getting too high, he tends to stumble abit. Then we will start teasing him. He does run around to look for tiles for us also.Unlike some forumers in renotalk, we only had Steven to choose the tiles with us. Cos his partner, Max had an appointment and only came later, and nobody from Hafary was there to assist. Hope it is not too long winded for you. Have fun on this Saturday!! Although i am still bewildered by that word cozy. Geez, guessed we are slightly better, coz we only have kitchen and bathrooms wall n floor tiles to choose. Hee... thanks for the tips! Actually same here. We also have no idea what we want. I like it contemporary with some element of fun and vintage looked. I also like white brick wall featured in some magazines. I like a bit of raw element too. So confused. On that day, I just like my MBR toilet to be warm and dark, hence I picked the colors. Hey Darrenelle, Not yet started.. We are choosing the tiles this sun. LOVE the bathroom tiles you've chosen.May I know how much they were psf ?Hey, thanks!eh... the black one is called Vintage Negro - $3.60psf and the other one is Dolmen Noce - $3/ $3.40psf (cannot recall). hobbes187 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2008 Yeah its definitely impt to know ur theme before going down... I went down with a rough idea of what i want and somehow it evolved into us choosing tiles for a modern resort theme. I saw the very white tiles that you chose but i didnt wanna top up. Furthermore, Max & Steven said that a less white one suit our theme better as it feels more cozy But if you're going for mordern contemporary then 100% white is a must!My most headache tiles were the kitchen toilet ones... Chose a long time and rejected many suggestion by the IDs and Hafary salesman before settling for the eventual one But it was quite a fun experience... Next up for you will be the 3D drawings right? I;m sure u are brimming with anticipation!
