Hi escalla74,

So far our quotes from Tau are reasonable and compared to other IDs that we have sourced, they are cheaper and best no gst charges. You can discussed with Uncle Winson for further discount. :P

Yes and no in some respects and I beg to differ. Glass door at the kitchen is 100% more than any other quote I've received. Hacking & demolition work also commands quite a premium when I compare quotes for the exact same work.

Wow glass door 100% more than other quotes? That is alot :jawdrop:

Really wonder how they quoted ... When we compared Tau's quotation wif the 2 other IDs that we had shortlisted, for the exact same work, more or less there are different in pricing but in term of the overall package, it was cheaper for us from Tau's quotes.... BTW ours is a whole hse major overhaul.

All depends really. Like for like Tau's quote is abt 1+K cheaper than *****. Abt 2.9K cheaper overall as OC charges GST. Like for like on that price basis we chose *****.

In fairness to Tau, some of their other items were somewhat lower in price but to quality these I would class as small ticket items.

We chose Tau is becos of the price plus the attitude given to us. We have in mind roughly wat we wan and they provided us wif useful infomations and advise. The other shortlisted IDs were rather pushy, proposed to us very fancyful ideas which we already told them we are not interested.

Well at the end of the day... it is still the choice of the house owner who they wan to engage...

So is your hse reno completed? Ours still in the stage of processing...

Drawing stage. Hope to start by end Sept. So far all the IDs we've met have shown good attitude bar 3 whl we dropped straight away.

The other 2 finalist while price is decent was also dropped because they gave me exactly what I proposed in terns of design. I might as well use a contractor. The chosen one in the end had original ideas that were practical and integrated well into the existing concept of the place. At the end of the day we refused to pay ID premium dollars for contractor type work and concepts.

All depend on indiviudal's needs and requirements. Comfortable and ease of mind is impt when in selecting an ID as we the hse owner is the one that will be facing ID thru out the whole reno.

Ours will be completing by end of Sept ba.. Now doing plastering job follow by rewiring, lightings, painting and carpentary work...

Good luck for yur reno. Whr you bought your flat?

AMK 4 rm? How much you pay for it? AMK estate are quite pricely becos of their location. If the condition of the hse is still okie then re-doing parts of it shld be okie. For us, we had to overhaul cos the previous owner rented the flat out illegally to foreign workers.

It's a new small standard 5rm - 110sqm. We were **** lucky, bought it direct from HDB 5 yrs ago at walk in price :notti: - 313K :deal: (unsold unit, solid - no such thing nowadays man)

Nothing was done to unit by HDB except for base tiles (wall & floor) at kitchen and toilets. Horrible.

Priority back then was to do up as best we cld for 30K, so now am bored with toilets, kitchen and some other parts, so total overhaul.

Someone offered us 5XXK 2-months ago. Said no, sell and then stay where?

Is it the one near central area or Block 590++ there? My in law used to stay at AMK but shifted to Yishun. You are lucky man... bought 313k for AMK location.
