Hi

1) What is your budget for cables & brackets?

2) What speakers do you own?

Cheers

Vince

Err...just sharing what I am doing. I am not very good at these things and I lazy to find (physically), googled around and found monoprice.com sells decent cables at good price. I was looking for HDMI cables initially and CNET mentioned they use monoprice.com HDMI cable on their high end system (for review) and find that it works just as good. So I took the plunge to order from them. And decided to order all my cable requirements from them. They will be shipping to me via UPS expedite. The speaker cable I bought the 50ft one, and including shipping (if I avg out the shipping cost) will cost me probably in the region of S$36. The 6ft HDMI will cost me in the region of $14 each. And I did buy many other cables.

For the bracket, I may be trying to get those from ebay. Narrowed down to a few and may make my decision this few days. Some are from UK, some from USA. On average will cost me S$40+ (including shipping) for 1 set of 2 wall/ceiling mount bracket.

Thanks for all the feedback guys.

As i'm only doing a basic setup in my MBR with

a normal 5.1 Sharp HTS, hence the wire needed is of

those basic black & red speaker wires which cost only

$2 per metre.

As for the brackets, saw a brand called "queenie"

and quite nice looking at Best. Think cost around

$28++ .

As for my living room, I'm getting Bose which most

forummers are bombarding.. But well, my wife likes

what she hears and refused to give others a chance.

I'm not much of a "audiophile" hence will give in to her

but burn a hole in my pocket for that system.

The wires alone cost $200++ already~~. !!

Hi

Queenie brackets are a good range.

Sorry to hear about your wife's choice on the HTS & not giving other models a chance. Pity. But then again Bose has won many admirers with their sleek & tiny cubes. After all, its your ears that counts & nothing else matters.

B&W has a new distributor at Lavender street. Those intending to spend a bit more on these speakers, its worthwhile to check it out. The nautilus series are :bleah:

Cheers

Sim Lim Tower is a good beat to find cheap yet decent speaker cables and brackets.

For speaker cables, think a reasonable price will be around S$3 to 4 per meter run. Brackets should be in the twenties region onwards depending on design, load it can take etc.

You can probably get good advice from Singapore's local HT forum:
