jeddie 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Better double check with HDB cos if it turns out otherwise, you'll be liable for the works. Hmm rarely does owner change from sit to squat pan, funny.the technical officer says if the original floorplan shows a sitting pan and the owner changed it to squatting, then we can hack.anyway, will leave that to my ID once I confirm one... lawry 3 Report post Posted April 5, 2008 Lawry, you mean you level up the bathroom floor to be the same height as the step? Need HDB approval? After doing the level up, is the bathroom floor higher or lower than the kitchen floor?I used to think the step was knocked off and flatten ...But it seems like you are right, the bathroom floor is higher than the kitchen floor, they levelled it up to match the step. I'm not sure if you need an approval for that, but it will all be handled by your ID.
thevert 0 Report post Posted May 26, 2008 (edited) Most of the time, the step-up kerb shd be able to hack away to create level flooring in the common toilet. But your contractor must be careful in case they break the ceiling of your neighbour below and cause leaking. I think this also must get HDB approval depending on the unit? If you look up at your common bathroom ceiling and see a lowered "protruding" ceiling portion above your toilet, the original toilet seating is most likely those "squatting" type.
