strychnine 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 (edited) Thanks. I like the kitchen toilet colours too!So you're looking at this scheme too? Seems like you guys like my toilet !! But they did cost a lot so they better turn out nice!!Did u sign on Fri or Sat? I was there Sat nite and Max was talking to a couple before us.The bathroom tiles were chosen by Max, Steven and the Hafary salesman. The design wise is done by Max. I only stated my requirements like large mirrors, shower screen, vanity top etc... He chose the colours... Hope that helps... Did u hack ur toilets too?Saturday... OMG..yeah its possible that it was us that you saw. We were there around 6-7pm-ish.We still don't know who Steven was cos we werent introduced yet. But I know they are a project team.Is the older guy in red rimmed glasses the famous Mr K ?? Was it max's design ? Wow thats good... I hope he'll maintain such standards when its our turn We're not hacking..we're taking a risk by just overlaying instead. Our flat's pretty new and the existing tiles seemed in pretty good condition. hobbes187 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 Buying LightsToday went light hunting for my place. Well, we didnt really hunt cos we went to Chelsea Lightings at Jurong East as recommended by my ID and compared between them and the few shops next door. Ended up still buying from Chelsea. By the way, parking is a real hassle at that place! So few lots...Anyway, bought the lights below after much considerations about budget, practicality and design.Double tube PLC downlights x 24Chose white frame as we didnt want to spend too much time polishing the silver ones if it tarnishes. Comes with Osram bulbs.Dining area hang lightWe like the design of this light. Initially wanted squarish ones but the auntie advised against it cos she says it is hard to align all 3 tubes to face the same direction. The round ones wont give such problems. The brown colour should fit into our design nicely.Bedroom 2 and 3 ceiling lightsSimple rectangle light for the 2 less used bedrooms. There were so many of these rectangle lights there that we didnt know which one to choose. Ended up choosing a simple design so we wont grow tired of it in time.Foyer lightThis is the most difficuly light to choose. My FSM wanted us to put a light with at least 6" diameter there. We couldnt decide which one to choose so in the end chose this simple one so it will be more discreet. Didnt one some light that will stand out too much at the entrance.Toilet lights x 2I like these dog-bowl lights. Chose the large double tube ones for better brightness.Balcony LightThis will be a warm light for my main balcony. Really like this one !! Saw a few shop and chelsea price is lowest by far for this model.Kitchen lights x 2Round lights with black trim. Simple design. But I'm not sure if it fits our kitchen colour scheme... What do u guys think??OthersFlourescent tubes for cove lights and 2 simple bulbs for service balcony and bomb shelter.

ctgal 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2008 hi hobbes187,yea i went to hafary and saw a lot of tiles!just that we havent fix our contractor and so not very sure what colours and kind of tiles to choose....but i dun really see 0.70 tiles and the cheapest will be 1.6 ..the toilets are the floor tiles that quite uneven..u can imagine water all gg to 1 corner of toilet due to the uneveness...ya that guy is mr tee....u contact him before ?Wah so good! If thats the case you can go to Hafary to look at the tiles you want. The tiles HDB gives is about $0.70 so you will top up whatever difference. Usually kitchen tiles cost $2.20-$3.So they only doing the kitchen for you but not the toilets? How uneven are the tiles? The HDB tiles are ugly... Think you should go for new tiles but make sure the contractor does a good job. Is the guy Mr Tee?

He is an ok person to deal with...I think it will be tough to find 70cents tiles at hafary... You should consider topping up to $2 tiles and get nice ones. At least u will save on hacking, tiling and waterproofing costs.

hobbes187 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2008 How much dd u spend on them? Didn't know taps are sold seperately. Yah, I know I sound silly. Yes taps and basin are bought as separate items. This way you can choose the taps u like ma Actually I still have to get taps, ceiling fan, instant heaters and toilet ventilation fans. Wonder which shop is best? Seems like Poh Joo and Royal Fanco are the recommended ones here.
